We played against a back up in FL.
We played against a freshman and new OC in GA.
...
Here comes the fun..
We also played against:
A new transfer QB and OC in V-tech
A new transfer QB and OC in TxAM
A freshmen QB in Bama
We barely beat a veteran Appy st.. team that got demolished by a new coach and system (Miami)

The reality is that our program seems to be further behind than we thought. Especially our offense. Our senior QB has made mind boggling mistakes. We are always in an uphill battle.

Using the excuse to not change QB or system doesn't seem to hurt other programs. Look at LSU right now. Fresh attitude and new outlook.
....
We play against a new system and another Freshmen QB this week.
Also a new HC in in Missouri later.

Kentucky is the only other coach that has had the same HC/system since Butch arrived. KY might be the 4th best SEC east team by the end of the year. That would be impressive.

My point is that we should be light years ahead compared to our opponents based on experience and stability with our system. But it sure doesn't feel like that.

The record is on track to be better than last year and I'm still celebrating that we beat those degenerates in Gainsville and Athens, but yeah the East is HORRIBLE. We might be the worst 5-2 team in the country

Tennessee is playing under a 1st year Defensive Coordinator and a defense that has been missing a new key piece almost weekly. It goes both ways

I don't even know what to say about your logic, are you trying to say because these situations, it influenced the quality of the opponent? Outside Alabama, UT is as talented or more so than most of the NCAA. Injuries, now there is a statistical nightmare for UT, this had more to do with how well they played vs. this load of comparative mambo jumbo you wrote. Geesh, everyone and their brother trying to dumb on this team and you have to go really digging for this crud.

Alabama has a new DC do they not? Does that mean they aren't a good team like you are making the case for UT's opponents due to new coaches. Failed logic.

I'm looking over your post to see where you mention the infirmary that was made of our starting roster.

Or that our QB will make some terrible throws but has won games in clutch situations time and again.

Or that Alabama's QB is extremely talented, protected by an NFL line, was playing against our third string defense and isn't asked to do that much by his OC (one of the best in the country)

Or that VA Tech is 5-2 and ranked.

A&M's QB is a senior transfer who beat Alabama.

The "reality" is that you took a lot of time to research reasons that we shouldn't feel good about this team. Do you want us to play, and beat, the Patriots every week to validate how good these guys are? You play the teams on the schedule, man. Everyone is flawed. What is it that would make you happy?

So here is the REAL fun...

I'm going to cheer for a team of tough kids in orange as they finish a season against teams that, according to you, aren't qualified to play a game of Tecmo Bowl.
Then, in a month or so, I'll ignore how bad our team is while they choke slam the tide in Atlanta. And then I'll wait for your post on how much Alabama sucks.

Learn to enjoy yourself.

Ridiculous! Our opponents have a combined record of 39-12 with 5 of those losses being to the Vols. 6 of the 7 are either already bowl eligible or just 1 win away. You're reaching to be negative here.

Butch has improved every year since he's been here, record wise. At the end of the day that's all that matters.

We will most likely win 10 games for the first time since 2007 and have a good chance of getting to ATL. Let that sink in a little. IMO, Shoop gets somewhat of a pass due to the injuries we have suffered on defense. Debord and Mahoney? Will let you know at the end of the season but for their sake the offense needs to play well down the stretch.

Has to be one of the most ignorant stat picking posts I've seen. I had planned on dissecting this with opposing stats and how that Florida QB is playing better than their starter and yadda yadda but realized how big of a waste of time arguing with someone as negative as you would be..

Go root for bama or something Jesus man pull yourself together.

Misleading. We barely, I mean barely got by Appy St, played a good 2nd half to put away the Gators, had trouble pulling away from Ohio, needed a miracle to beat a bad UGA team that lost to Vandy at home, and needed what, 5 or 6 fumbles by Va Tech to win? We are dang lucky to be 5-2 and the OP was simply pointing out that we've been fortunate to have the record we have due to the competition being worse than what many realized. Valid point IMO.
