I've been out of pocket today but I don't see this posted anywhere.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/12/sports/ncaafootball/12tennessee.html?_r=1&ref=sports

Also on Friday, a summer basketball coach from Memphis called the Tennessee recruiting hostess program the most “orchestrated and aggressive” he had seen in 28 years on the recruiting circuit.

Also on Friday, Keith Easterwood, a veteran summer basketball coach, said that on a visit last year with his son, a football recruit, he had to ask a hostess to stop brushing her breasts against both him and his son.

He recalled saying, “Young lady, if you don’t stop doing that, we’ve got a problem.”

Easterwood said that he took a group of basketball players to a Western Kentucky football game at Tennessee this year, and that the presence of the hostesses had his players “literally reduced to blubbering idiots.”

“I’ve been up there five times, four for football and one basketball visit,” Easterwood said. “My observation is that this is a very organized operation. These girls have obviously been groomed. There’s a lot of eye contact and touching.”

LMAO at Easterwood. That piece of trash wanted so desperately for his son to get a Tennessee offer.

This is crazy! Brushing their breast up against people? People are coming from everywhere that hate UT

Geez, I will be glad when people are done with this, for all we know Easterwood could and probably is making all this up. This stuff with the girls goes on at all major schools across the country.

Maybe we should've sent a male host?

Easterwood needs to think any about any shady recruiting he has been involved in before he makes comments about another team.

That sounds like a compliment to me.

This Thamel guy needs to STFU already. I don't care what his columns say, this is all being blown completely out of proportion. Tennessee is doing absolutely nothing other schools don't do. And to make matters worse, this all stems from a game in September and the timing of this coming out now couldn't be worse. This whole thing smells rotten and somebody needs to bring out Thamels ties to UF and Urban Meyer here.

Sounds to me as if Thamel is grasping for straws now that he realizes that his first article has been refuted by multiple other media outlets.

Maybe Tobias Harris signing with UT over Syracuse is what set this douche Thamel off on a witch hunt?

There has literally not been one source in this entire thing that does not have an obvious and glaring motive to denigrate this program and its recruiting practices. It is shameful the way these people are slandering these young lady's and they should be able to sue for libel and slander when nothing of consequence comes from this sex crazed witch hunt. Shameful NCAA, and the NYT is a rag, it's no wonder they're going bankrupt.

A summer basketball coach is the best source Thamel can find to support his story on alleged football recruiting violations at UT?

Strong.

This is becoming hysterical.

Who are they gonna quote next, an assistant, HS, hockey coach, from Minnesota?

If this was coming from a semi-respectable news paper, I would worry, a little.

Heck I know I would commit, what's the problem here?

Uh oh. Personal space is now involved and touchy feely social receptions, over the top manners probably too. I had thought this was pretty well contained to rogue hostesses on Facebook. Little did I know.:cray:

LMAO at Pete Thamel and Thayer Evans. Can't wait to laugh at the next crock story that they come out with.
