This thread should win…hmmm…. A banner! It wins, hands down, the championship for most repetitive ever.

For me there are three takeaways:

1. Reese is a fine player.
2. Clark is a fine player.
3. DarcFeenicks doesn't spell particularly well.

Warm regards to all.

Then you missed the best, most entertaining actual basketball games in a long, long time. But you do you, agenda watching is unfortunately a very big, if destructive part of W culture.
Racist, Imo. Hold on there Man, America has always pulled for the Underdog. So for someone who doesn't fit the mold, and is not supposed to be that good, and Is that good, it's ; well it's like Dalton Knecht doing what He does. It's called a Phenomenon. (Pistol Pete?)That is the attraction, and when the the attraction is gone, then it reverts back to ho hum. It is what it is.

Agree,,,these playoffs are reminisant of the 70s-80's NBA playoffs with
Individual stars: Michael, Larry, Magic
Individual team connections: Utah Jazz (Malone-stockton), (MJ, Scottie), (KJ-K Duckworth)
Physical teams: The Detroit Bad Boys, NY Knicks CHarles Oakley, etc

I have enjoyed these playoffs more than any other before them

Clark is amazing. Reese is a thug
Thug has become a racist word to most, but to me it is in its noun definition:
a person who habitually seeks to harm or intimidate those whom they perceive as vulnerable.

That definition fits but there is more than that with her behavior.
I would add classless and disrespectful. She’s a good example of a culture that shows that same behavior.
Gotta get those fake eyelashes on to play basketball lol

My only question is, how much of this was an intentional, WWF style heel-and-babyface, marketing ploy?
If it was, it certainly worked!

If it's real (like the blizzard-enforced viewing of the '79 Daytona 500 was for NASCAR), then the timing needs to be capitalized on ASAP. But it also needs to be freed from race conflict and recast as personality conflict.

Dr. King brought some of us a long way from the norms we were born into--glory to God!
Now we've traveled a long way since Dr. King, and it looks to me like we've taken a wrong turn.
And the people I see holding the roadmap mostly have white faces that stand to benefit financially from dividing us again.

You can say much the same about Reese. No one predicted that she would smash the league record for rebounds or consecutive double-doubles.

Her being picked 7th was even a surprise.

Clark has been an elite player from the get-go and a fixture on the junior national team with Page Beuckers who were the two most highly recruited players out of high school.

Also, number 1 picks aren't exactly "underdogs".

Here is the bottom line. Clark is an outstanding rookie (right up there with CP3 and Catch). If she stays healthy (and she has a great record of being injury free), she will likely be one of the all-time greats.

Reese is a workhorse player who will likely have a long and successful career (and seems like a good bet to eventually become the Ws all-time rebounder).

All the other narratives around these two players are cases of them being drug into culture war BS. Clark has done a better job in staying above the fray where Angel has gotten pulled into some of it.

Whose rebounding record will she break? Don't look it up. Nobody knows, thats the point. CC, with the passing, is making everyone around her a better
player. The NBA 3 pointers and driving layups are an added bonus. She is the female Pistol Pete. Who buys a ticket to see the leading rebounder?

Its Tina Charles who just set the mark this season. It was all over ESPN sportcenter.

But, your point is irrelevant. Why compare Clark and Reese at all? They play different positions and do different things. By analogies, QBs get more attention and sell more tickets than lineman but you still need the latter to have a competitive team.

It is only because of Culture BS that people feel that it is so important to argue that "Clark" is better, more important than Reese rather than just acknowledging that both are good players.

Sure, Clark is the bigger box office draw but she, if she wants to win championships, she needs some workhorse players around. Heck, the Fever could use a relentless energizing bunny player like Reese.

Good to see a reasonable person remind those who may need reminding.

Who is “better”, the gold medal winning Olympic shot-putter or the gold medal winning Olympic giant slalom skier? Now imagine that they have very different personal styles, and watch the agenda pushers crawl out from under every available rock. The comparison will remain pointless, the arguments ceaseless, and for the lovers of all the sports involved, tiresome.
