I have the myTouch 3G which is pretty good. Shazam is nice and Shop savy is pretty cool. Tells you the cheapest price online and in stores around you when you scan a bar code.

i've read some pretty bad reviews about the droids. i was thinking about gettin one, but after reading reviews i doubt i will. verizon is coming out with the iphone probably in june or july. i'm debating on waiting to get that or get the samsung omnia II. The iphone will prolly have some probs at first, and the omnia is has great reviews.

Hmm that's interesting I love mine and haven't had any problems though I am sure there has been some (as all devices do). But I like the free apps and its fast and verizons great. If I were you, I would atleast try one out but like you said, there's plenty of great phones coming so make a good choice!

But if you have any questions about the droid id be happy to answer if I can.

Droid by Motorola w/ Google and the Droid Eris are 2 different phones. The Droid Eris is the one getting bad reviews I believe.

Unless Verizon miraculously announces the iphone in the next 6 months I will be getting a Droid. My friend has one and he can play every SNES game on it for free through some kind of app. Pretty sweet to have Donkey Kong in your pocket at all times.

I have a Hero through Sprint and it is rockin. I've had smart phones for years with the Moto Q and the BB Curve, and the Hero blows them both away. The only downside was getting used to the virtual keypad.

Must haves: Advanced Task Killer, Movies, SportsTap, ShopSavvy, Fishin' 2 Go, Color Flashlight, and Weather Bug.

Nice to haves: Raging Thunder, Fart Droid, Bubble, CNet Scan & Shop, and Splat!: Bugs

Yes, it's the Eris. It has a very old ARM processor, but the rest of the phone is fine if they will update it to 2.*.

Unfortunately, I don't think the iphone is coming to Verizon. I mean I'm sure it will come one day,but not until Verizon get their LTE network deployed.....I could be wrong, and hope I'am.

I've given up on iphone coming to big red for now,so it's down to the Droid,or a Palm Pre Plus.I love the Palm Pre Plus, but I'm not sure Palm is going to survive.I think they had a really good shot before Android came along.

Still waiting on the update..

I'm betting March. The Droid will probably get it sooner, but the Eris will have a "tweaked" version considering it has sense, and it"s processor is ancient. I'm not knocking the phone itself,I find Eris and the Palm Pre feels best in my hand and it's still on my short list. I think the Eris would be much better if it was rooted, and had an app to turn the processor up a tad....just not too much.

Hang tight you will get it, and it will be an improvement. Just count your blessings you don't have a BB Storm (like myself)that even when they do push out an update it looks a lot like beta software. They have lost a customer in me forever! These morons can't write a phone OS that doesn't resemble Windows DOS to save their lives.

If you are in no hurry for a phone I would wait for the Verizon version of the Nexus.
