Robin Miller on Speed Center said that they could potentially field a car in the series. No idea on when, what make, or with what driver though. Thoughts?

Maybe but I'd think Danica would want to stay with an already established team in JR Motorsports instead of going to a brand new team.

Best of luck to them. They will need it

Michael Andretti must think he's Chip Ganassi or Roger Penske. Now he can get a reminder in both series that he isn't.

Take this for what it's worth but I saw on another board that AA was talking to Ford reps about running Fords in the series.

How about this..........

They start out with Mark Martin since he needs a ride? I could see him getting a team established and sticking with them for 2 years and then retiring.

You'd think as a start up team they'd want a past champion to begin with if possible

Nah, the past champion thing is a crutch but there's always the possibility they could buy someone else's points to start next year off with to ensure they get in those first 5 races. I mean if someone like Robby Gordon is "in" the top 35 for next year I could see him or even someone like Bob Jenkins at Front Row selling the points to Andretti Autosport for the right amount of money.

I don't see him being a full-time driver for that long unless he is racing for an ultra-competitive team.

They've already worked with Window World and Petty, I'd bet they'll just be buying into that operation somehow.

Petty needs to make sure he keeps as many people out of his business as possible after the Gillette fiasco last year. Two cars seems to be enough for RPM.

the Andrettis would feel right at home in NASCAR where it's always somebody else's fault.

Here is some confirmation

On any traction to the rumors of Andretti Autosport going to NASCAR:

Miller: “John Lopes (CFO of Andretti Autosport), who puts all their sponsorships together, said last week … I said, ‘Hey, is there anything to this rumor that you guys might be going stock car racing?’ He said, ‘We’re exploring. We’re definitely looking into it.’ So, we’ve heard that they might be connected to Roush, that they might be doing something with Ford Motor Company, but that kind of makes me wonder that Michael (Andretti) is probably not going to go with General Motors when the new engines come along next year, but everybody is assuming if Andretti goes to NASCAR, he’ll just keep Danica. I don’t think that’s going to happen. I don’t think that’s going to happen at all. They’re looking at opportunities to replace this GoDaddy money with some NASCAR money and I tell you what – that’s a huge deficit to make up when you lose somebody like GoDaddy because it’s probably the second or third biggest sponsorship in IndyCar racing and that’s going to be tough to replace.”
