After reading three days worth of quotes from the coaching staff, I'm not sure that even our coaches have recovered from the Florida game.

They just seem stung to me, based solely on what I'm reading. The channel should be flipped to Arkansas State by now, but still all comments remain centered on evaluations and fixes from Florida.

We don't focus on the target ahead, and things could turn even more ugly. Quickly.

Just an observation...

Concur.....Arky runs the same offense, we will get another helping of mobile quarterback. Fulmer said on FOX nat'l radio yesterday, they spent more time than normal on contain defense, closing gaps quicker and SAFETIES BEING MORE DISCIPLINED. I can just imagine the word Florida was mentioned in UT practices this week more than anyone wants to admit.

59-20 will do that to you when you honestly believed going into the game that you couuld do certain things, and you got slapped in the face with the fact that you couldn't.

disbelief is the tone that still bugs me. searching for reasons why, when they didn't have any idea to begin with.

the term "starting over" comes to mind.

Right now, the term 'unfocused' is coming to my mind.

that's fair. it's hard to look at the offensive woes with the running game, short yardage situations and long ball to warrant that. even as well as they have played offensively at times, it still looks like they have no real direction.

It's hard for me to believe that the coaching staff was surprised by either Cal or Fla. They played them last year. I am also surprised in that they apparently evaluated Tennessee's capabilities so highly in the face of what should have been known competition.

What are these guys thinking?

Very keen observation at that. They are completely shocked at what is happening on the Hill. This is why most of this mess will play out exactly like you imagine it at the end of the season o+w.

I'm pretty happy that it's hurting this bad. It would be more of a problem to me if they immediately moved on. We all know they need to game plan for this week, but they also need to make sure nothing like the florida game ever happens again.

I agree with that to a certain extent, but if you fail to sufficiently focus on the opponent at hand, bad things can happen.

I'm sure Arky St. is thrilled to still be reading stuff about the Florida game.

true, but honestly if they fix some of the things from the florida game then they are preparing for the arky state game.

Come to think of it, IF (notice that is a "big if") CPF will be around next year, perhaps we shoud just go ahead and start preparing for the Gators now. :eek:lol:

At his print press conference he spent a third of his time talking about the loss, and then moved on to next week. He was very adament about not spending much time on the loss and moving on.

Good to hear. I appreciate the info... Still feels wrong to me though. Just a feeling.
