2017 College Football Team Talent Composite

This hasn't been updated for this yr yet but we didn't lose much star talent and added more. Our composite would remain the same by time you add the Transfers in too. So this backs up my talent on our roster claim..Just needed the coaching to develop it. Only Ala,Ga,LSU and Auburn are ahead of us in the SEC and only 3 on our schedule this yr.

Last updated on 09/20/17 at 2:10 PM CST so not very relevant to 2018

That's why I said we lost very little, added more and composite would be the same. It's very relevant. Also shows what we weren't a 4-8 talent team last season.

Like you say last updated on 09/20/17 at 2:10 PM CST so not very relevant to 2018.

I also went through and took off the guys who left and aren't here now and that composite is lower than our "18 signing class plus the Transfers. So actually our total score is actually higher this roster. So that should put to rest our roster being horrible, because it definitely isn't.

I did a breakdown a couple of months back. The current roster, including the incoming class, has an average star rating of 3.57, which is tied with Auburn for 4th in the SEC, and 8th in the nation. Of course that's just based on star ranking coming out of his, and doesn't account for coaching, fit for system, or heart.

1. Alabama 3.93
2. Ohio State 3.88
3. USC 3.73
4. Georgia 3.72
5. Clemson 3.66
6. LSU 3.64
7. Florida St 3.63
8. Tennessee 3.57
8. Auburn 3.57
10. Penn State 3.56
15. Florida 3.39
24. Kentucky 3.21
25. South Carolina 3.20
30. Missouri 3.11
33. West Virginia 3.05
35. Vandy 2.97

only the win-loss counts...and,

GO BIG ORANGE!

I wouldn't have ever thought that. Great point! Again this is for the argument again us having no talent on our roster. Shows that talent doesn't equal wins if the coaching is bad. It's all I'm saying. With good coaching we could be much improved and have more talent than 9 of our 12 opponent's. Butch couldn't capitalize on that but hopefully this staff can and should.

Thanks for sharing! Just another thing that shows we have talent here and needs to be coached up. Talk about wasting Talent, LSU should be competing with Ala for the West every year.

Exactly my point on how bad the coaching was.

And you have to factor in that the team quit on butch. They didn't want to play for him anymore.

And for anyone that's going to ask, I don't have any links or quotes. So, JMO, IYAM.

Good news is most everybody is back, the Bad news is most everybody is back..

Yea I think between graduation, leaving early or transferring we lost 4 *4 and one *5 ( KMac,Martin,Wiggins,Berry and Dormady)..the rest were *3 or *2. We added more than we lost as far as rankings go. Simply based off recruiting rankings we have more talent this year than last. We were actually #14 in 2016 so last yr and this yrs is better than the 9-4 team and equal to the 9-4 '15 team. Just shows how bad the coaching was and how much better our records should have been the last 3 yrs.

B.S. doesn't matter who is coaching if the sideline is full of injured players and you have 3rd string starting.

We didn't have 3rd stringers playing on the defense. So again yes it was coaching. What about the wasted '15 and '16 years that we underachieved both years. Weren't playing 3rd string guys the. Injuries played a part but was far from the only reason we were 4-8. We were 3 plays from 7-5.

Exactly! Yea that was easy to see with how they looked on the field. Looked like they were going through the motions outside of a few players.

It boggles the mind that we were able to go 4-8. Hell Dooley could have gotten us to a bowl last year

As someone said above, I think the players just flat out quit on Butch last year. There's no other way to explain getting blown out by Vandy and Missouri. Those are two really bad teams.

Some of these people are thick headed man. No point in trying to explain what you meant if they can't comprehend it....

Yea I've noticed that. A lot of it stems from being pissed about hiring Pruitt. They say we shouldn't have hired a Bammer or thrown 8 mill at Chip Kelly who was fresh off his 18 month show cause expiring and left Oregon to clean up the mess. Yea that's the guy I want coaching our team. Those same ones would be 8itching we hired him in 4 yrs when we're on probation. I don't care if we hired a coach from Ala, Fla, Ga or the school for the blind. I guarantee if we had hired Spurrier instead of SC those same ones complaining about hiring a Bammer would be celebrating hiring a Gator. Most stupid $hit I've ever heard. Auburn hired Pat Dye, who was a Georgia Bulldog and is still there bleeding orange and blue. I've realized it's just a reason to complain. I'd rather those fans go pull for somebody else if they are just going to whine about everything. and are pulling for Pruitt to fail.

He Definitely could have! Bad thing is we were still 3 plays from 7-5, a bowl and Butch still being here. Was a blessing in disguise. It was still impressive how bad that kind of talent could look.

One of the best lines in sports.
Even though we went 4-8, we have most of them back,
Yeah, that’s what worries me...lol...Gaga...sad.

Yes we had more than our share of injuries. However, injuries had nothing to do with spread offense with empty backfield inside the five yd line, terrible clock management and miss use of time outs, running the same 2 or 3 plays every series, total lack of player development, keeping NFL talent RB on the bench.
We have talent, develop them, coach them up, and win.
