I have read almost all these forums about the Gators. Mediocraty after next year. Gentlemen and ladies you less than mediocre. What Kiffin did is he stepped on his privates. You should be ambarrassed for him. Urban has done things the right way. Take off your orange glasses and be a college football fan first. Gators kill Tennessee next year. Stop living in a dream world and use your heads. They have more talent and are and will be better coached. You don't have to like it, but you do have to live with it.

this guys post is about as interesting as his dumba@@ name. is this lame thread week?

That was bad. I admit that. I saw a reply that mentioned drinking and posts and it's true, for me anyway. You know, I'm not a fan of either team. I like Michigan and we have our own problems to say the least. We may never matter again. I just believe that FLA is doing things the right way and they are the best team in the country. To hang your hats on "when and if Urban leaves" and "when Tebow goes" does not make sence to me. Fellas, you need to admit that Kiffin made a big mistake, fun yes, but a mistake. He pissed of the SEC and they WILL remember. Your replies to my first post were funny. I even showed my wife. Good luck. College football sure is passionate. Blows the NFL away. No hard feelings I hope.

Well, you sound like a good sport, at least about posting. You have my sympathy being a Michigan fan, I work with one. Hope things turn around for you guys eventually.

As someone who has made a fool of himself more than a few times on here, let me just say that I'm about to do it again.

To the new Gator posters on here, please show some humility and some class. Would help if you didn't come out swinging by calling people stupid or what have you. Remember where you are. It would also do us some collective good if you used reasonably decent syntax, grammar, and spelling. No surer way to have folks ignore your point than to bury it in easy targets such as spelling errors.

To the old Gator posters, where are you? Time to come to the defense of the Gators and Meyer, just as these Vols fans would do if the tables were proverbially turned. NCGatorbait and others, giddy up!

To the newer Vols fans who have jumped in just to join in on the fun, first, please understand that most Gator fans have never owned jorts and would sooner be caught wearing UT sweats than sporting a mullet. We are kind and decent folk. A bit arrogant because of our recent success? Oh, yes. But wouldn't you be if you had two football national championships and two basketball NCAA championships in FIVE YEARS!? I mean, sorry, but you are damn straight we are going to rub your noses in it.

Why win them, otherwise?

To the older Volnation posters, please forgive the rest of us. And reign in some of these ludicrous new Volnation posters who have been smokin' weed, eating 'shrooms, or got dropped on their heads and seriously think that UT has more than a wee bitty prayer come September. You know better!

Until then, in the immortal words of what's-his-name, "Can't we all just get along?"

Michigan, like UT, will be just fine. CRR had a tough 1st year, but so did Saban; look how that turned out. CRR will get his players in there and then Ann Arbor will be rocking.

Now; back to UT. You guys might like mild manner coaches and sweater vest but in the south football is about passion, smack talk, and gamesmanship. Sure CUM and Saban want to kick our a$$ and run up the score. But that is how they felt prior to this week’s comments by CLK ;which by the way were made to boosters in what essentially was a pep rally. Things have been down for a while and quite frankly we needed something to energize the fan base.

I love that people act like "how dare UT/Kiffin piss off the SEC?" or "doesn't TN realize the SEC will remember?".
You're forgetting that UT and BAMA are the historic top dogs in the SEC. Both programs can go through periods of mediocrity but one good coaching hire can send them back to the top, ie BAMA hiring Saban. The truth is that other SEC programs are on edge and don't want kids they are interested in even seeing UT's campus. Do you not feel that's a sign of fear that they will lose those key recruiting battles?

The idea that UT would be worried about upsetting any other program in the nation is absolutely laughable. We know that it's just a matter of time until things swing back our way and it's looking like that will be sooner than later. You can't deny that we have an elite coaching staff, great tradition, top-notch facilities and vast resources on our side. Explain to me exactly why, with all I mentioned above, you feel we will fail because of flaming the mighty Urban Meyer.

You guys were cocky before you ever won a NC. It's in your blood from being dominated by in-state rivals and UGA for so long.

There's a saying in the NFL about any given Sunday. I don't doubt that it's unlikely that we beat the Gators in 09 but this saying applies. Especially, with Monte and the rest of the staff we have. It will be fun but admit one thing for me......

THE GATORS ARE SCARED SH**LESS THAT MAYBE, JUST MAYBE UT BEATS THE GATORS IN THE SWAMP NEXT YEAR. YOU ALL KNOW WHAT MONTE CAN DO WITH A DEFENSE AND YOU ALL KNOW WHAT A DISASTER THAT WOULD BE FOR YOU AFTER ALL THE PUBLICITY RECENTLY. ITS A NO-LOSE SITUATION FOR UT.

You put about 600 % too much emphasis on intangible motivation and about 3 % of the emphasis you should on having the best players.

Once again, I don't doubt UF's talent and it's importance. However, anything is possible and a I know that a loss to UT in 09 is the worst thing that could happen to you guys. I'm not saying it will happen, I'm just saying that it's a concern whether you admit it or not.

BTW, college football is riddled with overconfident champions who were beaten by lesser-talented teams who found a way to match up. I can only hope your team is as confident about the game as you are.

My emphasis was on your fear, not intangible motivation. That said, do you doubt the effect of a coaching staff's motivation? If so, the why is the underdog mentality something that coaches strive to instill in their team?

True. We just do not have the horses yet. And people who like to pull out the Ole Miss card from last year don't seem to remember that Ole Miss was lead by Snead. We have no Snead.

Classy earlier post by the way. It should be pinned to the top of the Forum.
