He's like Ray Goff right now heading into 1995. If he doesn't win the East this year, he's out. No doubt about it. No one wastes more talent than him.

Just further shows that UGA is a sleeping giant. Put Saban or Meyer at UGA and they would dominate. If GA kids will play for Mark Freaking Richt, the king of underachieving, they'd flock to UGA if they had a truly elite coach.

Having said that, Boise State will destroy them to open the season. The meltdown in Athens will be epic after that one.

Rome -- Mitchell.

Valdosta sweep.

Keeping talent in state. Something we aren't used to.

Thats why we don't want him fired

Even if he underachieves each and every year? I don't believe that for a second. One 4 star riddled class won't make that fan base forget what happened last year. I echo the sentiment that if he doesn't at least sniff an SEC Championship game this year while ending with momentum...he's done.

Richt isn't pulling them in. It is UGA that is pulling them in.

This. It all smells like fresh roses and daisies in January and February, when recruits are committing left and right, and the dawgs are howling. December is a cold, long month. See what another trip to Memphis does for Richt's longevity.

Plenty of 4 star talent in Georgia--with or without Richt.

I agree with OP, Georgia will be scary good with a decent coach. I just pray Richt will keep pulling a Jeff Fisher. Win just enough to not be fired but lose enough to not challenge for the conference.

You guys have to remember one thing. These elite kids we're getting are instate kids for the most part. These kids grow up rooting for UGA, what do you think happens when UGA offers. Richt certainly has issues within the program right now, no arguing there. The man is still one of the best recuiters out there and UGA is UGA. I imagine any local TN kid probably dreams of the UT offer. There's more than one factor when a kid commits to a particular school. The coach is certainly a very important factor but its not entirely everything.

Idk,,, it seems like we get more love from ga kids than Tn kids, to be honest with you. Not being an AzZ , just preaching the truth.....

Horrible thought, but i bet CDD would tear it up at UGA. Let's hope they don't come after him. Do you think he would do better than Richt with all that talent?

I don't get the squandering talent argument. Richt's season average was 10-3 before this year, played for 3 SEC titles last decade (won 2), and played in 3 BCS bowls (won 2). He brings in good talent, not UF, LSU, or Bama talent mind you. And guess what? Those are the teams he finishes behind. His recruiting classes are 3-4 in the SEC and UGA normally finishes in that range.

True. TN gets plenty of love in north GA. The Bammers and Barners get plenty of love in west GA. UF and FSU get plenty of love in south GA. USCe and Clemson get plenty of love in east GA.

There's plenty of talent here for everybody.
