He's over the top with his complaint just as he is over the top in just about everything. Trump is very much a showman. That doesn't negate some of the questionable methods used to try and bring him down.

It is only after the personal choice to choose to take a drink, or many, time after time, that the "disease" takes hold. It is choice, and one that requires many many choices to drink that leads to being an alcoholic.

Personal choices and decisions with a substance that can train the brain and body to need and crave it doesn't lend to being sympathetic or empathetic to people who chose to drink in the first place, and if they are truly predisposed then taking one drink only reaffirms bad decisions.

Many diseases are generically predisposed and dependent on triggers.

I agree with your point that there is definitely personal responsibility involved. But it isn't a Boolean. That personal responsibility doesn't negate the fact that the addiction takes control.

We can have sympathy and empathy for them when when there is personal responsibility involved.

Although I overall agree with your underlying thoughts on alcoholism, that's an appeal to authority. I somehow suspect you would disagree with the politicization of the psychiatric community that has normalized transgender and treats it by bodily disfiguring as opposed to therapy, etc.

The figure includes 53% who say they disapprove strongly of his performance in the White House, the first time the national displeasure rating has exceeded 50%, according to a new ABC/Washington Post poll published on Friday morning.

The poll that also found that a majority support the special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation and think Trump should not fire attorney general Jeff Sessions.

Just 36% of those asked said they approved of the job Trump is doing, matching his low in surveys carried out since he was inaugurated as president in January of 2017.

Ouch....He'll insult some group of women, Muslims, or minorities or encourage violence at his rallies and get his numbers back up.

Not that i would be careful of putting your faith in those polls but ... they have a bad track record with trump lol
