This is what I keep saying to people and they say oh that's an excuse then I show them the list and their jaw drops. I've never seen anything like it.
If we don't get some people healthy quick these last 5 aren't going to be as easy as we thought.

This is surreal
Boy-oh-boy! Surreal is correct, sir! Never, ever have I witnessed more key injuries...heck...more injuries period...than this group has experienced. And it's barely past the middle of the season! It's going to be a far rougher row to hoe for team 120 to finish out the season with 5 straight considering all this attrition. Let's don't doubt that. We're going to have some close ones. What I'm looking for is some innovative restructuring while enough of our troops heal. Maybe by the time we've somehow managed to prevail over SCjr and TennTech, maybe-just-maybe Cam and DKjr will be able to work their ways back in, our missing O-linemen will be back in workable numbers and, with Kamara back after a few weeks (guess Jelly's gona' have to get some quality snaps now), maybe we'll have better luck along the way in not losing anybody else. Geez! It's like these boys are running through a MINE FIELD! AMIRIGHT?

The season is not "derailed". They beat Georgia and almost A&M with these injuries, it's still possible to win out.

As far as I'm concerned, it has derailed the season. Even if we somehow win out, it's a terrible epidemic

If this does happen, it will be a minor miracle. This many injuries cannot help but have some debilitating impact on team performance.

Alvin Kamara and 10 brutal injuries that have derailed the Tennessee Vols' season | FOX Sports

At this point it's like a bad dream. I never thought it could get worse on the injury front than 2002 but oh boy was I wrong. I have never seen the injury bug bite a team like this in all my years of watching Football College and Pro.

I had completey forgotten about the 2002 season. Ugh thats was bad. But this years injuries makes that year look spectacular. Beat UGA and UF in the same year and it seems like we are being punished for it. Maybe we really are cursed.

Like I've said before I believe Tennessee signed a pact with the devil in the 90s and he came to collect in the mid 2000s and he's not done collecting his payment. This is crazy. How can a program be so snake bit for 12 YEARS??????

Definitely, but everyone said Ls to Aggies and Tide, so it's not like these injuries caused them to lose more than expected. W/L they are right on schedule and unless I'm missing something will get the OL and Kirkland (and McDowell?) back next game. That should be enough to win out.

I agree and the one bright side is that every team left on our schedule is mediocre to just plain awful. Barring the bottom falling out I believe we are sitting at 10-2 at the end of November.

I'd hardly call our season "derailed." This article is a gross exaggeration IMO. We will run the table and finish 10-2, I'd hardly call that a disappointing season. We should have Wiesman, Hall, Kendrick, Jones, McDowell, Kirkland, Foreman and Abernathy all back against South Carolina. This will be huge for us going forward.

Y'all do realize we will have the biggest majority back coming out of the bye right? We will win out and Go 10-2 and ply for the SEC championship whether its against Bama or A&M is yet to be seen. But we will be there for a shot at one or the other. I know I will be pulling hard for A&M this Sat!!
