Whatever happened to gerald Williams? he's the 3rd LB I am thinking of from that class. I know Ray Henderson "didn't work out" but what about Williams?

I get that but in the same game, Mayo was still missing tackles. All things being equal, when one guy is consistent and makes an occasional crwod roaring play and the other guy whiffs on 1 of every 3 chances...it's clear to me who the better player is.

they're both better than my 4 year old son, but there's not really much information in that.

That's yet another issue w/ Phil. Dude can recruit, but if dude's don't actually see the field, who cares. FSU is having the same issue right now. Bobby B can still recruit, but his studs aren't qualifying or staying out of jail.

yea Phil has brought in some talent, but he does something to them to where they dont perform up to their potential... i personally think that they put too much emphasis on strength and weightlifting, because a lot of guys who are like 6'0 190 DB end up in the latter part of their UT career being like 6'0 225 and moved to OLB or something

Too much of an emphasis on weightlifting? That is an idiotic statment. Don't work out too hard, you might not be a CB.

that we are not a really good team... i mean we all got trapped into the hype this whole summer about our newcomers and Ainge being a senior and all, but the fact of the matter is none of that was really enough to actually have high expectations for this team... i watch the rest of the top teams play on tv and it just seems that they play harder or are coached to try harder or something, whatever it is that they have is definitely a few steps up from where we are and where we need to be with the biggest fan base in the nation... fact of the matter is that Florida is way better than us and they have had better recruiting classes than us over the past few years and it showed yesterday afternoon by beating us by 40 points, it was no fluke and u can say that a couple of plays here and there and it would have been a different game.. i dont know what is up with our coaching staff and why our highly rated recruits always seem to fail us more than they dont, but over the past few years i really havent seen the 5 stars that Rober Meachem got (until his junior year), Walter Fisher, Albert Toeina and Jesse Mahelona had, and i dont see where Robert Ayers, Demonte Bolden, Jerod Mayo, Wes Brown, Montario Hardesty and Lucas Taylor got their 4 stars from because they sure arent stepping up and making plays like an average 4 star recruit would... now i know that you really can't blame the guys for not making plays when not given the chance, but the coaching staff has to take the blame here for this lack of production... how do you bring in two talented recievers that have some sort of college experience and get everyone hyped up about them because you say that u dont bring in JUCO players and not play them, but then gametime comes and u dont have the balls to play them because u dont think they have the whole playbook down, frickin B.S!, if you have talent put the guy out there and frickin tell the QB to tell that MF what to run specifically, dont sit them on the sidelines and have a 2 star reciever really showing his true colors by just looking at a slant pass hit one hand and not even trying to gather it with the other... and this is not the 80's or 90's anymore, the game has changed, there is no reason to have a 260 pound DE out there who has not speed, if you're gonna stop a fast team like Fla, Cal then you have to put speed, athletes and well coached players on the other side of the ball, we had neither of those on the field as far as DE's and the secondary played their hearts out i could tell,but they just have bad coaching, and im just gonna go ahead and say that Rico McCoy is a frickin beast and he could start for any team in the country and Jerod Mayo sucks, sorry to say that but he really does, he looks like a sucker out there on D, the only bright spots on our D are Eric Berry and Rico McCoy, i dont care how much yall say that Hef is an All-American and how much trash talk he spits out there but the fact of the matter is he sucks and is not playing like a guy who has played 4 years... Our coaching staff sucks, they dont know how to win a game and they dont know how to call a play that actually works, and on top of that the players make too many mistakes, but I dont kno if u can blame most of this on the players tho because they are all experienced, just about every guy we had on the field Sat. as a starter has been in the program for atleast a couple years......... and it showed

haha that was a funny morning when i wrote that, i was hungover as i was writing that whole thing.. something made me get on here as soon as i got back to my apt. that morning and express everything that had been running through my head that whole night while i was drunk lol

well weightlifting is necessary, but i am talking about our skilled players.. ofcourse they have to weight lift in order to stay strong out there but i think the conditioning program UT has all together emphasizes too much on getting the players bigger and stronger and not enough on endurance...if u look at Cal's and UF's playmakers they dont even look like they do anything but a few sets of curls and bench press and spend the rest of their workout actually running since thats what they do anyway... lifting weights is a basic essential in playing football but there is no need for a 6'0 190 pound recruit to weigh 215 by the time the season starts, all that does is slow them down

See, this is what I don't understand: you may want him to go and that's your opinion, which is your right. But this man "has given his all for Tennessee today" since 1967, minus a few years of assistant coaching elsewhere. This is the kind of nonsense they call him on the Bammer boards. He deserves better from Volnation.

I wouldn't be surprised if your a-- isn't bigger than his.:shaking2:
