that we are not a really good team... i mean we all got trapped into the hype this whole summer about our newcomers and Ainge being a senior and all, but the fact of the matter is none of that was really enough to actually have high expectations for this team... i watch the rest of the top teams play on tv and it just seems that they play harder or are coached to try harder or something, whatever it is that they have is definitely a few steps up from where we are and where we need to be with the biggest fan base in the nation... fact of the matter is that Florida is way better than us and they have had better recruiting classes than us over the past few years and it showed yesterday afternoon by beating us by 40 points, it was no fluke and u can say that a couple of plays here and there and it would have been a different game.. i dont know what is up with our coaching staff and why our highly rated recruits always seem to fail us more than they dont, but over the past few years i really havent seen the 5 stars that Rober Meachem got (until his junior year), Walter Fisher, Albert Toeina and Jesse Mahelona had, and i dont see where Robert Ayers, Demonte Bolden, Jerod Mayo, Wes Brown, Montario Hardesty and Lucas Taylor got their 4 stars from because they sure arent stepping up and making plays like an average 4 star recruit would... now i know that you really can't blame the guys for not making plays when not given the chance, but the coaching staff has to take the blame here for this lack of production... how do you bring in two talented recievers that have some sort of college experience and get everyone hyped up about them because you say that u dont bring in JUCO players and not play them, but then gametime comes and u dont have the balls to play them because u dont think they have the whole playbook down, frickin B.S!, if you have talent put the guy out there and frickin tell the QB to tell that MF what to run specifically, dont sit them on the sidelines and have a 2 star reciever really showing his true colors by just looking at a slant pass hit one hand and not even trying to gather it with the other... and this is not the 80's or 90's anymore, the game has changed, there is no reason to have a 260 pound DE out there who has not speed, if you're gonna stop a fast team like Fla, Cal then you have to put speed, athletes and well coached players on the other side of the ball, we had neither of those on the field as far as DE's and the secondary played their hearts out i could tell,but they just have bad coaching, and im just gonna go ahead and say that Rico McCoy is a frickin beast and he could start for any team in the country and Jerod Mayo sucks, sorry to say that but he really does, he looks like a sucker out there on D, the only bright spots on our D are Eric Berry and Rico McCoy, i dont care how much yall say that Hef is an All-American and how much trash talk he spits out there but the fact of the matter is he sucks and is not playing like a guy who has played 4 years... Our coaching staff sucks, they dont know how to win a game and they dont know how to call a play that actually works, and on top of that the players make too many mistakes, but I dont kno if u can blame most of this on the players tho because they are all experienced, just about every guy we had on the field Sat. as a starter has been in the program for atleast a couple years......... and it showed

im gald u do, because there are a whole lot of things wrong with the way our program is being ran right now and something needs to be done about it as soon as the Arky St. game, because we might lose to them as well

Yet another sign that the donut man needs to go.I have never understood his need to baby these freshmen along.Is he scared they will cost us a game against someone we should beat.That's going to happen anyways this year.Message to philbutt.If you want to save your job take the handcuff's off these kids and play them.It's just plain stupidity.

I almost hope we do. As much as it pains me i think it will take some serious embarassment to get rid of the coaching staff.

and i think the only reason Eric Berry is starting now is because Gaines is hurt and we dont have 2 or 3 other star CB's on our roster who have been in the program for a while

I dont think Mayo is a bad player but he is not as good as McCoy at playing behind a invisible line and still making a few plays. If he played behind a good D-line i think he could be a hoss. On the other hand i think Karl should be benched for being a kitty kat. He almost acts scared at times.

Rico McCoy was making tackles out there and Jerod Mayo wanst, simply put.... Rico McCoy was trying to make plays and it seemed Mayo was running away from plays... Rico McCoy looked like he wanted to play, Mayo looked like he was just tired and was just ready for the game to be over with... bringing me back to my point that Rico McCoy is a beast and Jerod Mayo sucks... Jerod Mayo hasnt done anything yet this season to impress me... not one play

I don't care if berry gets burned repeatedly all year.He won't because he is to good for that .But he needs this, its the only way they learn.We need to get more of these freshmen on the field because they are the future.Lord they need them to develope fast.These starters are terrible.:cray:

and where is the seniority from Ainge?, i havent seen a benefit yet this season on Ainge being a senior quarterback who has played 4 years, right now he should be in the coaches face telling them to put the talent out there so that, for one, his NFL draft status can improve, and so that we can actually score.. there is no reason we should get down to the red zone our first 2 or 3 drives and not come away with touchdowns with a senior QB, or was it the playcalling that was horrible, as u can see the program has a lot of snit wrong with it and we need a change... no reason Ainge should not be able to produce points in the red zone after driving down field for 60+ yards when he has been playing in this program for 4 years... or is that the problem?

Call aggressive plays on both sides of the ball.

You've got nothing to lose. Hell, it can't get much worse.

Although it probably will.

thats what makes up a sissy, someone who is scared to do something because he is afraid it will get worse... but ur right it cant get any worse, the only thing that could be worse than we are right now is for Darren Mcfadden to be the first player in college football history to be awarded the Heisman during halftime of a regular season game against us

Rico is already worlds ahead of Mayo. I thought I saw that after Cal. I was pretty sure about it after So Miss, and I and am sure as crap certain about it after yesterday.

I'm just mad cuz the seaosn we get to avoid LSU and Auburn...we flame out. Frustrating.

Our Linebackers have to be the biggest disappointment on defense. We knew our d-line would struggle after losing our top three DTs who were of questionable worth to begin with, and of course after the Cal game. We knew the secondary would struggle replacing three starters and starting a true freshman. But our linebackers? We were supposed to be LOADED at that position.

what happened to the rest of Rico's recruiting class??? I know the kid from erie, PA switched to DE, but didn't we have like 4 stone cold studs at LB that year???

Not being smart, but did ya see the So Miss game? Rico was a beast and had a couple of BIG TIME hits.

The biggest dif I've seen overall though is that Rico is in the right position and takes the better angles more times than not...and he doesn't miss many tackles (although I didn't watch the WHOLE UF game). Mayo is always either chasing or getting jukeed from his shoes. After 3 games, I've seen enuff of it. There has to be a lower classman who actually pays attention to the fundamentals...right?

I watched the USM game and a replay. The hit over which everyone went ga-ga really wasn't all that spectacular. Moreover, I'm not going to judge the quality of our football players based upon beating up (used very loosely) on a team like USM.

Yeah we did, Mathis has moved to defensive end.So to has ayers(who in my opinion should be starting in place of do nothing reynolds).Myers white is undersized Mccoy is the only one that panned out at linebacker according to our see all know all staff.Who knows in someone else's system they might all be top notch linebackers.I don't think this staff knows were any of these players true position is.Remember we recruited Darren Mc fadden to be a linebacker?
