Could it be that Pruitt puts Taylor on Sills the whole game? I think we are going to see Alontae cover him well. He is a phenomenal athlete, and I think as a freshman at corner, he will shut down Sills one on one. I mean what do I know though? I’m not the coach, but I think the match up could be a good one. Whoever he puts Alontae on, he will do a fantastic job on. Just my take on it.👍💥

He's from "Mancatcher" Tennessee. He'll take care of his assignment! In my day, Manchester had the nickname "Mancatcher because of it's reputation of aggressive traffic cops. Guess they made a lot of revenue because of the interstate proximity.

Manchester born and bred checking in. Manchester police are some of the finest including the Sheriff department.

Manchester rocks. Best next door neighbor town any other town could ask for.

I don't know if Alontae is ready to go one-on-one all game long with an experienced and talented veteran college receiver, but I'm confident he's ready to do his part in our defensive backfield. Our coverages are--hopefully--going to be more confusing and dynamic than just this-guy-covering-that-guy all night.

Sills isn't the athletic type receiver. He's probably below average speed and size, especially if you compare him to an SEC guy, but he is full on with his effort and doesn't drop passes. I have no doubt Taylor has him beat on athleticism, but that's just a small part of covering somebody. Honestly, if our DBs start turning to track the ball while in the air I'll probably be singing Pruitt's praises. We'll find out soon.

Justin Martin would lock Sills down. He'd have him on the ground 3 seconds before the ball gets there.

I have a feeling that Pruitt will have our DBs taking some chances.

It might pay off and it might hurt us but I think our guys are going after INTs rather than just knock downs.

Take the ball away and we get more chances to score plus it will hurt the confidence of WVU and shut their fans up.

I will NOT be surprised at all to see some tricks come out of the bag in game 1.

Pruitt simply hates to lose.

VFL...GBO!!!

Fellas, there is a reason that Sills is an All American. He is probably 6'3" runs a 4.7 in the 40 and doesn't drop any pass that is remotely catchable. I like our Freshmen DB's but none of them are going to lock down any decent receiver that has 3-4 years worth of experience. Lockdown corners are not a dime a dozen, they are incredibly hard to find because very few actually exist. a lock down corner "Owns" his half of the field and smart QB's know better than to throw in his direction.

If Taylor actually does start and stay in the game you can bet there is a reason. We have a staff of real coaches now. So sit back and watch what happens. These coaches know what they are doing. Sills won't look like a all American tomorrow.

That's actually not a bad way to use Taylor as it simplifies the game for him, doesn't require him to think about much else, which could help slow the game down a little for a frosh. We'll see.

sills is an AA. Taylor is a true freshman.

i'm very high on AT, and i think he's going to be very good for us. i expect he'll flash at times Saturday, but overall, you'd have to give the advantage in that match up to the experienced AA WR. i mean, c'mon. if roles were reversed, we'd be salivating at the prospects of that kind of match up, with that kind of QB delivering the ball. Taylor athletically can probably hold his own w/anyone on the field, but he'll make mistakes. he doesn't know what he doesn't know at this point in his career...game 1, year 1.

Nigel will be the factor in the back end IMO. How they use him in support will make all the difference along with getting pressure. Was reading about WVU vs. OKSt. last year and Grier threw 3 picks when they had good pressure on him. That will decide the game I think.
