You all are sleeping on Kasim Hill. I read about JG, Mauer, Bailey all day, but not Kasim. Why not?
He had a solid freshman year at Maryland before transferring and he will be under what I hope to be better coaching. I think he has a real chance of starting next year.

You HAVE seen Bailey throw the Football? Matter of time.

Thanks for starting a thread about an alternative option at QB opposed to the same repetitive narrative about JG and others...

However...

However, Hill has as much chance starting at QB as Jauan Jennings does in 2020.

Complete non-factor.

I know who he is...I feel well informed. He had a solid freshman season...not so much sophomore campaign. Lot of missed time due to lot of injury. He’ll have plenty of opportunity...disagree with you on what he’ll do with it.

He has a lot going for him. He's got good size, he's athletic and he has experience as a starting Big 5 conference QB. He was a 4-star coming out of high school and is said to have a strong arm (even though I haven't seen much evidence of this in his highlights). You never know how these guys are going to develop and which ones will make the most of the facilities and the coaching. His experience may give him more confidence than the younger guys and that might give him an edge in competition. I wouldn't dismiss him, but I agree that it seems he has been overlooked by a lot of us.

The one forgotten is that Pruitt prefers a “safe” qb over an aggressive one. Its not about this qb vs that qb. It’s the reason JG was never challenged to begin with...... because “safe” is his preference and this is his team.

I suspect that if you're right, its because pruitt wasn't comfortable yet with how well the team could perform, so he wanted to play it safe. If that's the case, as the team makes progress he will take more chances.

He is overlooked. Because he probably won't play unless a string of injuries occur.

Hill has a really interesting story. He looked like the real deal before two ACL injuries.

One writer (Maybe Rucker) said in the periods the media was allowed to observe last year Hill often looked the best of all QBs

I’m hoping you’re right because I personally like high flying offense. I’d rather win a game 42-35 than 17-14. But that’s just me. Just seems Pruitt is old school “smash mouth”.

I think Hill is overlooked only because his numbers were not eye popping at Maryland and this is the SEC as well as his injuries to both knees of a duel threat qb doesn’t make the fan base very comfortable. Jmo

Yeah, I would say all those things make him a non factor unless our qbs get alot of injuries.

Plus looking at him he looks too short and big to be effective running vs the SEC anyway tbh. I hate to judge by looks alone because there’s always freaks of nature but I just don’t see him outrunning anyone. And that’s without ever being injured to begin with.

Kasim hill is not a factor in this. At all.

Your the 3rd person I've seen here emphatically say this. So I'll reply to you.

The guy made plenty of plays at MD before being injured. What is it precisely that make so many ignore him or outright say he doesn't have a shot w/o dramatic attrition? Pruitt obviously recruited him and is actively interested in DT quarterbacks. Honest question.

He has had serious injuries, didnt do anything at Maryland to clearly put him ahead of any other qbs, lack of playing time in our offense. You will see for yourself when the season starts and he just isn't a factor in the qb room.

I'm not doubting you. Just looking to see what real evidence everyone has for their opinions. These are good reasons btw.

But, I try to keep in mind two things. #1 We have precisely zero Heisman candidates at the position if you know what I mean. We've got potential but we don't have anything the bank on. #2 I can still remember the unbridled confidence when JG came here and how he was going to light it up if you ever got a chance to get on the field too.

So, just sitting back and watching.

Most of us have and I’m sorry to those that don’t want to hear it but if were being honest he doesn’t look any better at throwing it than anyone else. Saying it’s just a matter of time is pure speculation.
