Frankly, F$@* Bama. And here's why:

We're going into week 2, we don't see them until Oct 13, and it's September 3. There's a lot of football between us and the Third Saturday in October. Right now, it's Georgia State we need to *cough lol cough* "worry" about. Next week, it will be Florida. Then Akron, UGA, and Miss St. There's way too much ground to cover to even have it in our minds yet. It's like hiking and seeing a false summit. People see a false summit, so they speed up only to find out that the trail turns and they're still headed uphill. The key to a dominant season can be summed up in five easy words:

ONE. GAME. AT. A. TIME.

If you're trying to be a grammar nazi, you've failed. "A" is, in fact, both a word and a letter.

Who cares its not like if fans overlook an opponent we will lose....

You make a point. My big concern is that over the past few years, I've watched our fanbase melt far before we thought we were going to start sucking. It's usually about halfway through the 1st quarter of game 2 each year, though I suspect, no pray, that's not the case this year.

This wasn't intended to be another "Let's not get our hopes up" thread. It's just the implication of the "chow to chow, Sunday to Sunday" philosophy that I was taught in Marine Corps boot camp.

Even as fans, we play a part in helping our team win, just by showing up and being the loudest emeffers in the stadium and wearing so much orange that we give off light. Our players feed off of it. They love the fandom, and it needs to be there week in and week out. Consider Ga St practice for the fans as well as the team, but practice like you fight, and you'll have nothing to worry about. Saturday is much closer than October, Let's win the battles before we storm the HQ and try to win the war.

With Bama consistently in the top 3 in recruiting and the Vols hardly cracking the top 10, beating them will be very tough. We need to win on the field in order to compete in recruiting. Hopefully, a 9-10 win season and that will improve. Going back to 2008, the worst Bama has been is fifth compared to UT 35th in Rivals ranking.

alabama's secondary can be beaten! Bray can light them up for big yards and points. That will be the key game of the year!!!

Watching the Bama game a few things stood out.

Michigan had a horrible game plan. Run up the middle on 1st and 2nd, pass on 3rd. Just looked terrible. I don't know if Bama's D is as good as last year until they play a team with a better QB and WRs

Bama's offense looked better than in past few years. Their line and running game looked best in the conference. Even better than LSU. Again will see more when they play and SEC d-line, but their offense is now a strength.

Overall, they still looked like the top team in the conference. Hoping we are both undefeated when we play. I do think we will be able to pass on them. Michigan did have open receivers, just bad QB play.

I saw it like you.
Was amazed at how easy the Bama backs ran threw the Mich line.
Are Bama RB s that good, or was Mich defensive line that bad?.

Bama s D was impressive, as usual.
We are going to have to eat a lot of Wheaties before the Bama game.

Both lines for alabama were great and above most SEC teams. The backs were running through holes that were created by the line. On the defence side, again the line was defeating the off. line for Mich. TN. at times were over powering the NC Stae defence. But this was not the case for most of the game. The off line has to improve for TN to win with the better SEC teams.

A is a word and not just a letter?

Back to school for me...

Don't feel bad. I see Ph.D. folks who exhibit a lack of knowledge about stuff I learned in the third grade. FYI, yes "A" is a word and also a letter. It serves as an indefinite article but is also merely one letter known as a vowel. Another example is "I", and another is "O" which is a word when used in poetry as an interjection.

A hope I hold most dear;
O, to see my Vols and cheer;
Their rise to prominence again.
And be the National Champion.

That may be one of the best explanations for anything this board has ever seen. Love your example, btw. You a teacher?

Guy`s it was our first game I`m totally pumped about the win we looked good, but let`s not go nut`s over one win. Bama will get here soon enough. I want to see us improve for the GSU game, by that I mean: DOMINATE them not 17-13 final I`m talking 49-7 or 56-10.

Sincerely thank you for the compliment. No, not a teacher these days but used to be one among other things. Including acting in special local only TV shows. Every now and then my diminishing mind remembers what it learned or used to teach.

Bama has 3 pro players on their O line, which helps. We have 3, maybe 4. Their backs seem to hit the hole as if their were shot out of a cannon.

That Michigan game will be the closest game we have all year. Best team I've ever seen!

And just why are you here on a Vols board????

Your post is disrespectful and how I hope no Vols fans visit Bama boards and exhibit such wanton lack of courtesy. In the meantime I'll try a bit of pest removal.
