All things STOCKS

Summer vacation rental prices certainly haven't appeared to come down where we have looked. 30A and Destin areas are insane. Our last trip 2 summers ago may have been my last to the Seaside-Rosemary stretch. $12-15k+ for a beachfront house that will hold us and so overcrowded now. Even Cape San Blas is much higher than the last time we visited.... heading there end of the month.
We haven't been to CSB in a few years. Prices got ridiculous. We have started going to the Bahamas. We can do it for about the same money with airfare. It's more expensive once you get there but it's worth it for the crystal clear water.

We just got back from a 10 day barebones charter of a power cat out of Nassau. Great time.

Beautiful pics. We have used Moorings before, as well, and had a great experience.

We would have gone back to Exuma but flights there were absurd this summer. There just isn't an easy way to get there. $1200/pc was as cheap as we could find.

You gotta plan way ahead. We paid $600 a piece back in February. American out of Knoxville to Nassau. We are trying to experience a bunch of islands. We've done the Exumas and Eleuthera. Also we did Spanish Wells (Northern Eleuthera). I may go back, just the wife and I in October, November, or December.

We even looked at flying to Nassau and then taking a ferry to Exuma, but that's a lot of hassle and the shuttle wasn't cheap either.

For a couple trip, would you recommend Spanish Wells? We do not like large, loud, touristy destinations, so no real interest in staying at Nassau.

There is a small airline that runs flights out of Ft Lauderdale to some of the islands including Georgetown. I can't recall which one. We looked at taking a cheap flight out of Knoxville to Ft Lauderdale on Alegeant and then taking that airline. If I can think of it I'll let you know.

We love Spanish Wells. It's a great couples island. It's small and you get around the island on a golf cart. You will fly into north Eleuthera and taxi to a small port and take a water taxi to Spanish Wells. Our house came with a golf cart. There are several restaurants on Spanish Wells including Russell's Island (you get there by bridge). It's an old fishing village so it's pretty neat along the waterfront. We water taxied back to north Eleuthera one day and rented a car and saw the Queens Bath, The Glass Window bridge, the blue hole (I didn't jump in because I was afraid I couldn't get out 😅), and preacher's cave. We also rented a boat and ran up to harbor Island. There's a place there that turtles will swim right up to you.

If you like I can share where we stayed, the rental car info, etc. Our house wasn't directly on the beach but in one of the pics you can see the path you walk. The house was very nice.

Pics of Spanish Wells...

I’d be interested in the airline that flies out of Ft L to the islands.
This wasn't the airline I was talking about but I was trying to figure it out and saw where Bahamas Air had some flights that were very reasonable. I put i two people for flights in September and the total for both was like $650. You had to travel like Tuesday to Tuesday but that's hard to beat. Obviously you would have to buy a cheap ticket on Allegiant and possibly get a hotel in Ft Lauderdale if flights didn't match up but still pretty cheap.
