Seriously so sick of it. We're being a bunch of hand-wringing sissies, thank goodness we aren't the ones taking the field Saturday. Those guys in orange going out to beat Bama on Saturday are some damn warriors. Focus on the positives, not what we can't control. Defeatist attitudes have got to go. That's not what we as Volunteers represent. Get it together people, this is ridiculous. We're 5-1, beat both our SEC east rivals, it's Bama week and we're b*tchin about how the injuries are just insurmountable. Next man up and move on.

I'd take postponing this week like LSU-FL....we are probably missing 10 of our top 20 defensive players

Im an old surfer dude and have assisted one or two along the way how to surf. Other than getting in shape to get beyond the break and catch a wave, the most important technique is NOT look at your feet when trying to get up, focus your eyes on the shoreline. Your axx goes where your eyes focus on generally i.e. in the water or on the shore. The same is true in all sports if your focus is on what you cannot do or the odds are insurmountable to win, you're right, you will go where your focus is, defeat. Focus on what you do well where their weaknesses are, sellout to do whatever it takes to win and more often than not you will do just that. So many on VN live lives scared to be wrong or incorrect so sellout on the side of defeat and celebrate being correct when we lose. Eff that Id rather be miserable and incorrect if we lose but because I expected TO win! GBO!

You know you don't have to read or take part in any threads related to injuries right? The fact is, in many cases injuries are one of the most significant factor in the outcome of the game. And, due to our abundance of injuries, is a hot topic. Like it or not.

My question is, why did you start a thread knowing it would spur a discussion about injuries if you are so sick of the topic? :hi:

Meant as a "snap out of it" thread. Let's talk about who's going to play, what they can do and how they'll match up. How does it look to any parent or recruit that makes their way into this forum and they see us dogging any back ups that will have to play? It looks bad.

So who do we have? What have they done? What are their strengths? Let's go y'all, keep those feet moving.

The OP has a point. While injuries are quite relevant with what's happening right now, it's nothing new. We have basically been without our key guys on defense since before the Florida game and we are 5-1. The young guys are giving us quality reps.

I think what IS new is to have so many big name stars out at the same time.

Whoa! That's like a seriously cool story bro!

That sounds good and all, and I think everyone that plays will give their all, but I would feel a looooooooot better going into this game knowing we had a healthy JRM, Sutton, and Kirkland.

No doubt. If you would have told me over the summer that Kirkland, Maybin, and Sutton were all going to be injured and we would be 5-1 right now, I'd have thought you were crazy. Have we had a little luck along the way? Sure, but it's not been dumb luck.

So this is what we're looking at for Saturday more than likely. They can make this work. LB group going to shut up all the doubters!

WR: Malone/Jennings/Byrd
TE: Wolf/Croom
O line: Kendrick/Boulware/Thomas/Jones/Hall
QB: Dobbs
RB: Kamara/Hurd/Kelly

Dline 1: Barnett/Kmac/Vickers/Vereen
Dline 2: Kongbo (Mixon)/Johnson/Tuttle/Lewis (Phillips)

MLB: Jumper/Bryant/Bituli (maybe DKjr)
WLB: Elliott/ please don't get hurt (maybe Mcdowell)

LCB: Moseley/Buchanan
SS: Kelly Jr/Griffin/Berry
FS: Abernathy/Warrior
RCB: Foreman/Martin
N-B: Gaulden/Foreman

The injuries are pretty significant my dude. Our two star studded linebackers and All-American CB are out. Let that sink in for a sec. Not to mention some key back ups that are banged up now. I applaud your words of encouragement but these are straight facts. Lets credit coach Jones and staff for having his boys ready at moments and notice and playing at a high level. Need a team effort from everyone this weekend.

Yes, but you only have about 3 for each position that should be ready to compete. Seems to me we were hovering around two at most spots and three at a few. When you have to start moving guys around, things are getting spread pretty thin. Will and does make a difference for any team. Even the great Bama can get hit in key spots more than once and feel a little fall off.

First off, hate everything about Tenn period. You need to do something about that American cheese color first. Go Gators!!

That said, you guys have an excellent team this year, clearly better than us. The numerous injuries might end what could have been an excellent season. Clearly a playoff team. Most folks know this already. So just a true Gator here tippin the cap and telling the truth. It would have been interesting to see you guys at full strength against OSU or the like. With that said, roll tide!!

We will do so right after you do something about that weird-azz combination of blue and red-orange you wear sometimes.

Do you think Alabama cares about injuries? They have quality depth. They enter each game expecting to win and playing to win. We are in a situation now with depth that is universally separate than our situations before this season. Berry, McDowell are upgrades from Dontavius Sapp. McKenzie is an upgrade from Daniel Hood. Gone are the days of Moore, Teague, Wagner, Brewer, etc. Take pride in our team.

These players were out for Florida, Georgia and A&M. Give those that have stepped in some credit. Those playing are our future and they have been doing a fine job,.

Losing your top players to injury is luck too....bad luck
