In review of all the new coaches 1st year 1st game in, here is a comparison for JP.

UCLA the heralded Chip Kelly gets his ass handed to him at home to Cincinnati. Yea the same one Butch came from that Dooley killed.
Arkansas Chad Morrisbeat a cupcake eastern illinois
Florida Dan Mullen beat a cupcake charleston southern
Texas A&M Jimbo Fisher beat a cupcake
Scott Frost Nebraska beat a cupcake
Willie Taggart Florida st. got trucked by Va Tech
Mississippi Matt Luke Beat Texas Tech. Probably most impressive win IMHO
Mississippi st. Jim Moorehead beat a Cupcake
Arizona Kevin Sumlin lost to BYU
Oregon Cristobal beat a cupcake

JP had the hardest game by far. Lets back away from the cliff and give him a chance.

I’m nowhere near a ledge. If what we seen last Saturday is still what we witness by seasons end with no improvement. Then we should worry. CJP has a tough task with rebuilding our beloved program. The previous three coaches completely obliterated a once proud and storied program. Hopefully CJP can bring my VOLS back.

By far...

I’m actually glad this ass-whooping took place in week 1...

We will get better! And that will give us a shot at winning some games on the backend of this schedule...

I think your post is fair. Basically any coach not playing a cupcake did not do well other than Ole Miss.

Matt Luke is in his second year at Ole Miss - this wasn't his 1st year/1st game.

All but Matt Luke have previous HC experience, and even he was an interim HC last year. That does have something to do with it.

FSU looked really fast while getting drug though. Their DL was getting pressure and didn't look bad. Their Offense looked fast but had stupid mental mistakes.
