I am so tired every year saying wait until next year. We need to either get in the football business or get out of football all together. Just need a little more time. I really think the University of Tennessee deserves more than a mid level coach from La Tech. How many years does the BS need to continue ? I have supported Dooley from from day one. Don't even care much anymore until we decide that money is no object and we go out to get the best coach in the business, not a daddy's son with a name of long ago. Yes, I realize that nobody wanted the job when Dooley accepted it but I cannot believe it is that way now. Sure Dooley has made improvements but the l's are still greater than the w's !!! Slam me if you must, I am to old to care now !!! Also, I am extremely tired of being made fun of week after week by the ESPN Gameday bunch. You say root for another team. My reply, I don't want too !!! When the opposition has receivers standing in the end zone waiting for the ball , with no defender in sight, something is wrong with this picture. Now, let me make everyone a little bit madder . I would give anything if Kiffin had stayed at Tennessee.

Understand the frustration.....ugh Take a deep breath and enjoy the games we have left. No matter how excited we on this forum are about coach X or coach Y it's still a waiting game that we (99.999% of us anyway) have any control over. Nothing is going to happen coaching wise until the end of the season, so relax as much as possible while hopefully watching some Big Orange victories. Maybe in December you'll have something that gets you excited about next year, oh sorry that was the original problem wasn't it.

The same Kiffin that has one of the most offensively talented teams in the country and has 2 losses to teams they were favored to beat by a touchdown or more?

There, there, brother. Calm down, calm down. Saying things like that kiffin remark won't help anything.

We all want to win. Some are willing to be more patient for the process, some not so much. We all want the winning tradition back and to be able to have pride in our program again.

All I can tell you is this. There are people who make these decisions who truly want the same things you and I do. They know so much we don't know it's ridiculous. We have no choice but to try to have faith in their judgment (or lack thereof, depending on your opinion)

Remember, it's great to be a Vol Fan. I'd rather cheer for a mediocre Tennessee team than a NC Alabubba team. And hey, basketball season is just about to start and all the signs show we are lookin good in both mens and ladies BBall.

GO VOLS!!!!!!

You had me , until the Lame K. I think we would have been severely punished by the NCAA. UT can't overcome something like that the way USC can. I agree he was doing well in recruiting, evaluating and developing talent. He is a good offensive coach. Many of the kids he landed were head cases though. He would have brought in a ton of talent , but we would have been burned at the stake by the NCAA, who, under scrutiny, needed a fall guy at the time and did not want to burn bama or ND(FSU also).

Settle down man, this is game one of our second season in year one. This makes us undefeated, Oct don't count because those were for moral motivation purposes. DD has us ready to handle Troy and the horse they ride in on.

Let the name of Kiffin be stricken from every book and tablet, stricken from all pylons and obelisks, stricken from every monument in Volnation. Let the name of Kiffin be unheard and unspoken, erased from the memory of men for all time.

So we should either win it all, all the time, or just nix the fb program all together? Makes sense.

But if we were to lose 3 of these 4 "season 2" games, does that mean the Vols lost two seasons in one?

I have no idea how doolanders math works this out. I consulted the orange dog and he indicated the Music City Bowl would be considered the national championship game and we have a shot.

(1) Had Kiffin remained at U.T., you do realize that we would be on probation by now, right?
Also, do you realize that U.T. would have lost it's identity? Kiffin already was showing USC video's. He was also skipping the pre game quotes that were written by General Neyland. The one's that have be spoken by the players for years before each game.
We are not in the best of shape as a football program but at least we aren't on probation.

(2) Hamilton had the chance to hire Brian Kelly when he was still at Cincinnati but at the last moment he hired Kiffin. Had Kelly come to U.T. rather than Kiffin, we would still be in the same situation we are in now. Kelly would have left after one season to go to his dream job at Notre Dame.

For a proven coach, this is a fill in job, until their dream job is available.
For a mid level coach, this is a stepping stone and a raise for them.
To us fans, this is our passion. Not everyone feels the same way about U.T as we do.
