Once again...........another excuse for Butch to say, "We're building a program" and this is a line of scrimmage league and we don't have nobody right now...............Man, I don't know why people don't see the same thing in Butch the way I do............he's just buying time and if he don't win all remaining games this year by 14 pts or more............he's not the coach for UT..........so we will see...........actually even w/ the talent left we should be beat everyone by 21 pts.........

Last week Jones said Butcher will see playing time against USC. He's 100% healthy and is up to 275lb now. So as far as depth goes it's vickers/Tuttle/Picou/Kongbo/Phillips/butcher. Obviously I know that Kongo and Phillips are DE but they've both seen significant playing time at DT this season and now with this development to Johnson I believe they'll continue to do so. Would love to see Butcher come out and rip some heads off. That guy is strong AF and has some serious rage bottled up 😡

Thanks, I was trying to find Butcher's weight, he should be an SEC DT by next year. But for now he can give us snaps, he's already RSed so might as well use him

I know we haven't seen him play but in the spring game of 2015 he went up against jack jones in circle of life and did awesome. And that was when Jones was 310lb and butcher was 240-250lb. Granted they both could have still been in high school at that point, but if he can line up against Jones two years ago and do fine, I'm willing to bet he can do the same against the remaining offensive linemen on our schedule.

Side note. In that circle of life, his helmet came off and he kept going. Love that kind of attitude.

This is the smart move. I think Tuttle will have an absolute monster junior year and could go pro. So we need Alexis for 2018 depth so our 2017 guys don't have to thrown into the fire.

Something that Shoop needs to do is find his 3rd down DT's on passing downs. You have to save Vickers/Tuttle. That means we need to see Kongbo/Phillips where can they just worry about getting after the QB and save our starters legs.

I thought he already was eligible for redshirt? he's only appeared in one game.

That is all it takes unless he is injured. No injury, no red shirt even if he played only one down.

He's actually put on quite a bit of weight to play DT. He was recruited as a DE though
