OCASIO-CORTEZ RUNS WHEN ASKED IF SHE’LL FOREGO SALARY DURING SHUTDOWN

New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said lawmakers should refuse to get paid during the partial government shutdown but she won’t say if that rule applies to her.

As the New York Post reports, when asked Thursday about receiving her congressional salary, the self-proclaimed Democratic socialist apparently had other things on her mind, running down a Capitol Hill hallway and telling the reporter, “I’ve gotta run!”
It was on social media in December that Ocasio-Cortez castigated members of Congress for accepting a salary when some members of the public have to do without.

“It’s completely unacceptable that members of Congress can force a government shutdown on partisan lines & then have Congressional salaries exempt from that decision,” Ocasio-Cortez insisted in a Dec. 22 post, when the partial shutdown began. “Have some integrity.”​

The salary for a member of Congress is $174,000 a year.​

Ocasio-Cortez’s partner, Riley Roberts, proclaimed the first day of the new Congress “a really incredible, day, really special” and said Washington was “great.” (RELATED: Leftist Darling Ocasio-Cortez Used To Be Adam Smith Capitalist)

The two in the left ( ironic ) only one with no stuffy jacket on , hand on her hip . The young black woman with attitude ( slung out hip) Muslim quiet in the back ground . One “ lady “ sitting proper in the center and the ones on the right are in the power poses . This is such a staged photo , I wonder who or what advertising firm came up with the lay out because they are trying to sell some goods with this one .

Some would say "staged", others might say that they are just posing for a picture. :rolleyes:

I'm not sure what is so alarming about the photo.

I never thought I would have to come to the defense of liberal women in here, but c'mon guys... most of you are getting triggered over some of the pettiest stuff.

Not alarmed at all . But there’s no way that’s not staged for affect . Just like everything in Washington it’s fake and prompted. The irony is .. the one in Washington that’s probably closest to being real , we are trying to impeach . Lol . Just some personal observations . No panties were twisted during this observation .
