Ever since 30 Rock its impossible for me to hate Sir Alex. Seriously though the electronic rules are dumb. Not to mention the fact all the other passengers were taking pictures and tweeting about the incident on their phones as it happened.

The flight attendants and staff of American Airlines are just trying to make a living and are under a lot of uncertainty as far as their future goes with the company. They are nervous. It is the holiday season. People are rushing to get to grandma's house and get their 52 lb bag in the overhead luggage bin.

The last thing these peons need is for some rich, arrogant snob to jump on a commercial flight and disrupt their day and raise tension and chaos.
