SEC has voted in the 6-1-1 format, keeping one yearly cross division rivalry game intact.

It will stink to not go to Auburn or LSU or have them come to Neyland once every 12 years but it is a sacrifice I am willing to make to keep Bama on our schedule.

Soon we will be back to kicking their Crimson asses!

Knowing our luck, we will probably draw LSU first.

it wasn't going anywhere to begin with. the only people complaining about the permanent rivalry was LSU and even then, they said that the only other two schools (out of the other 13) who might vote with them were South Carolina and A&M

...I almost think we should be more upset at them for somewhat chickening out of the 9 game conference schedules pretty much everyone else will soon be using, personally

I hate to agree with Spurrier, but I thought his position on this was the only fair way to do this.Who are the permanent rivals of Florida, Georgia, USC? Their winning percentage will be nowhere Alabamas

LSU, Auburn, and Arkansas respectively.

And Ark/SC have been playing every year already, and came in to the SEC at the same time. This makes no sense to me.

Sacrifice, as in human. Fodder, as in canon. Bug, as in windshield. You know, the viles, as in tenessee.

Somethings should never change.

K,

Help me out with something. I was just over at Tidefans.com seeing their reaction and it seems that is abotu 3 to 4 fans that wished that the series wasn't kept.

It seems like a lot of your fans are over the Auburn and Tennessee rivalries and just want to play everyone...I don't understand why a fanbase so entrenched in tradition is wanting to throw away such tradition riched rivalries?

I was confused.

There is no rivalry between Arkansas and South Carolina. Arkansas and Missouri is a natural rivalry. South Carolina will get the new guy, again.

I am not a traditionalist on this. I would exchange the Bama rivalry for a schedule favorable for winning a NC every day of the week.

Yeah, Mizzou/Arky are permanent rivals now. The change doesn't make much sense to me either, but there it is.

I think it does, they are trying to give Missouri some natural rivalries and since they share their entire southern border with Arkansas it makes sense.

Tex A&M and Missouri were in different divisions in the Big 12 so I doubt they are that big of rivals already.

How so? Geography? You can't just go create a rivalry simnply because the other team is close by.

I mean, that makes sense considering they share a border, but it just seems like it would have been easier for everyone involved to just put TAMU and Mizzou opposite each other. Not big rivals, sure, but they do have some history.
