Atleast from the guys I work with.. They think we will be really good this year.. A couple of them went on to say they were picking us to win the east, some said they thought we would finish second behind usce. I have worked with these guys for a while and they have never said anything good about us so to me it says a lot.
They also respect Dooley as a coach. I have not heard a bad thing about him down here.
Thought I would share what they (bammers) felt about our program

Bama fans usually show UT adequate respect. At least the ones I've met always have.

One I work with said he isn't "comfortable" with us this year. The other hasn't said anything. Tells me all I need to know.

Agreed. I cant stand Bama, but most of their fans show respect. Its Florida fans that I cant stand, nothing but disrespect. There's a few good ones, but for the most part they're the worst imo.

ive always thought the bammer-ut rivalry still had alot of respect to go with it, which in my opinion adds alot to it. Now that we both have coaches one can respect it will go along way.

Hey Vol, if ya don't mind helping out a fellow fan, could you email me a copy of your avatar in the largest format you have? My girlfriend works at a print shop and I'm going to have her print me off a Fathead sized poster of this picture. I couldn't find this angle of that moment and it's an important one to me because it's when I knew i was a VFL.

Buncha my buddies in Alabama said that is the game they are most worried about.

We are a scary team this year. To me the main thing thats going to hurt us is youth. If they make a mistake they have to be able to get past it and not let it domino on them. If they can keep the mistakes minimal we have a shot at beating anyone on the schedule. Call it drinking the orange koolaid if you want. I think we have a legit shot of winning 8-9 games.

Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Florida fans are all worse. Ole Miss too for that matter. Bama fans have a proper view and respect for college football tradition, this includes Tennessee's.

I agree with the OP...They do show us respect and most of them have good things to say about Dooley. A lot of that is because he one of Saban's Disciples. I still hate the bammers no matter how nice they are to us. Let's see what they have to say after we beat them this year!

Tell them "War Eagle"....

Bama and Tennessee have been at it long enough to act like they/we have been there before.

Florida...not so much, mostly bandwagon fans anyway (IMO).

+1. They are a bunch of nouveau riche punks. They have had some success in the recent history of their program and you would think they invented the game of football.

I hate Bama but not without some due respect. Florida I just can't stand on any level.

Im surrounded by bammers every day living in alabama. Ill tell you why they are giving us credit. They're so delusional and high on saban that they'd rather see us win a nc than anyone other than temselves because that would make saban even more of a legend since they view dooley as a "disciple" of sabans. They're are not a humble and respectful fanbase at all. When we get back to the old days of dominating them, they will find humility once again though. Or make alot of excuses.

Bingo. I see the same mindset often from the Bammers. I believe that the Sabanic halo blinds them to believing that we must finish no lower than 2nd in the nation. :ermm:

I'm not saying those teams fans aren't bad because they are, and they may respect UT but there is nothing worse than having to listen to that rammer jammer yellow hammer crap at the end of a game

All this respect and tradition hogwash is just because they are owning us right now. I have basically lived here since the mid-80's, and I can tell you, during the 90's it was nothing but insults and wise-cracks while we were bending them over our lap.

I would say they are tolerable when you are losing to them (but still arrogant jerk-offs), and absolutely unbearable when you beat them. Generally speaking, with few exceptions, the fanbase is a rabid, immature and arrogant group. Piss on them.
