What team will he end up with this season or do you think he will retire?

yeah thats what the story seems to be. Everyone's interested in a 5 time pro bowler but not if he cant be cleared. I'd have to guess he'd be done with his career.

I look for Al to be picked up by someone by week 6 or 7...about the time a lot of LBs will be going down with injuries...Not sure how he will do with his neck problems.

Wow, I didn't know his injury was that serious. I think he would a great coach with his intensity.

Big Broncos fan here (so I was very happy w/ Henry and Fleming last night). Denver tried to trade him 2 or 3 separate times, but the physicals were a no go. I'm guessing he'll take 1 more stab at it, but I'm not too optimistic. My unfortunate guess is that it's all over.

I work with a close family member of Al's in Jackson TN. He wants to give it one more try, but is struggling finding anyone to pick him up. Team physicals keep getting in the way. It's getting late in camp as well, his best shot will be at the expense of someone getting hurt late in the preseason and a team needing an experienced guy quick to fill a role. If it doesn't work out this year, he'll be through. I just pray he doesn't end up a Bungle.

I talked to Fred White (who by the way works at verizon in circuit city in cedar bluff - go see him and get a phone!) about him recently and he confirmed that story. Too bad for Al. He was a great player and leader on the field.
