A 6-0, 195-pounder who started last season for the Mustangs, Muse is someone (Head Coach) Vakakes says has a very bright future after playing last season and starting at linebacker for the 6A school while weighing just 178 pounds.
“Eric is kind of the vocal leader,” Vakakes says of his upcoming sophomore. “He’s the heart and soul. He’s the crazy guy that everybody is going to follow behind. If he runs into a burning building, if he turns around there are going to be 50 guys following because that’s the type of energy he brings. I’m glad he’s on our team.”
With still three years of high school football remaining and a ton of room for growth, Muse is someone Vakakes predicts colleges are going to be beating down the door for in the coming years.
“There’s no doubt,” Vakakes says. “With the way he’s built he has no body fat. Everything he has is just muscle. He’s very explosive in the weight room. He has quick-twitch muscles. He’s strong and he likes to hit. He can also fly. Put all of those things together and he’s got a chance to be a big-time player. He’s violent. He’s very violent.”
