A good case can be made for either one. Some of the current tape:

Cabrera
Avg - 0.330
Runs - 109
HR - 44
RBI - 137
SB - 4
Other notes - moved to 3B to make room for Fielder; team in the playoffs; potential triple crown

Trout
Avg - 0.325
Runs - 129
HR - 30
RBI - 83
SB - 48
Other notes - superior defense

So who ya got?

hard to vote down a triple crown

I agree even though Trout's style (speed/power and defense) appeals to me more.

Heard there have been a few triple crowners that did not win the MVP, but I think you have to go back pretty far to find them.

Cabrera since July: 28 HR, 75 RBI .343/.410/.677

The scary thing? He's not been lucky...he has a .330 BABIP

I would say Michigan homer but for the A under your avy.

I'm not trying too. Trout was MVP till about September, when Miggy just went bonkers and put his team on his back, while Trout, still doing well, has faded some. I have no qualms if Trout wins MVP.

Team in the playoffs yet the angels have a better record. So that is a fun one. Haha.

@MWhickerOCR: Cabrera played 70 games against AL. Central staffs that ranked 9th, 10th, 13th and 14th in ERA

@MWhickerOCR: Trout played 50 games against A.L. West staffs that ranked 2d, 4th and 8th in A.L. ERA

Imagine what trout would have done in a full season.. Possibly (albeit unlikely) 40 HR 100 RBIs 150 Runs 60 stolen bases.

Harper is in the playoffs, trout isn't. By my calculations, more valuable, duh.

Tripple crown = instant MVP. I can agree that Trout might be a better all around player but Cabrera is more valuable (more clutch at bats). Also Cabrea has been scouted alot more and can still put up those numbers. There is no way Trout can duplicate this season next year but Miggy can put up similar numbers every year.

Based on what?

This is false. The league had a whole season to adjust to Trout and he made the better adjustments.

There is no way Trout can duplicate this season next year but Miggy can put up similar numbers every year.

How do we know this and what does this have to do with this season?
