how many true TE's do we really need? we got 2 in the last cycle, get one this cycle, and do we really need a 4th?

Thats the thing though - just take the best players. I mean, Sean Brown could easily play SDE. Sounds like Shaw has a ton of versatility.

Besides there certainly is not any guarantee at all we get Washington.

oh, i don't think getting Shaw would have a thing to do with Washington.....or vice versa for that matter.

i was just more curious about the actual # of true TE's we need to carry.

agree on get the best players mindset.

RockyTopInsider podcast with the VR2 guys talking about this kid:

Feels like uscjr at the moment but if UT greenlights then he likely comes here.
Came to UT to camp earlier this summer because he's interested in UT and wanted to.
UT likes him at TE.
Has 20+ offers including ten SEC schools.
They expect if he's healthy that his recruitment will blow up this fall.

Nothing really earth shattering but yeah, even if he commits to uscjr then it sounds like he could be a flip candidate.

Unless we miss on our other TEs...this one is going to USC East. If we miss on those...potential for a flip closer to signing day. IMO
