I heard during the FL game he couldn't throw down field becuse he was uable to grasp the ball good enough because of his finger.

hey man, not trying to be harsh at all. but don't believe everything that comes out of a color analyst's mouth. We just don't have anyone Fulmer and Co. are willing to let on the field that can get open down the field to throw it to.

Is learning how to run a pass route that difficult. I don't get why we have not even seen these guys more than 2 or three snaps in a game. I know you have to block to sometimes that must be it there scared they won't get a block on someone. Sometimes i believe its almost better to play sandlot football. Just send someone deep and throw it up there. Worst that can happen is a pick. I just don't get this nickel and dime crap.

The nickel and dime stuff doesn't bother me until we get in the red zone and can't finish it with touchdown.

now this is merely my theory so i don't know how much it is worth, but I don't know that it is necessarily about running the route as it is being able to get separation from the corners and safeties.

Well that really makes them look bad then. Guys with blazing speed sitting on the sidelines.

speed is one thing, making a slight move to create the needed separation is another

I don't think Ainge can throw the deep ball too accurately with 2 fingers taped. Everyone can see he has problems throwing while moving. It's not a stretch to think he might be having trouble throwing deep.

I'm not surprised the coach's aren't advertising that. Supposedly his finger is healing some, so maybe it will improve.

Cutcliffe has said that he stays completely away from plays with throws he knows Ainge can't make. As for the downfield thing...i think that's more of the mediocre receivers than Ainge's pinky. He also a sore throwing shoulder...

i read that Ainge has been working on handing the ball off with his right hand now, so i guess the pinky has healed some.

About freakin' time. The first time I saw him handoff left handed I said to my buddy, that's a disaster waiting to happen. Took til the Florida game but it happened.

actually it was the cause of a fumble in the USM game too, if i remember correctly. we recovered, so it wasnt a big deal. you would think that the coaches wouldve tried to fix the handoff thing after that to prevent more form happening. A+ coaching right there.

I don't think it has, I just think that they can't afford another fumble due to handing it off with his left.

Ainge expects to play the whole season with his fingers taped and said that it might heal if he wasn't banging it up every day. He's looking forward to the 2 weeks off hoping that it will heal some.
