I remember that being posted here as well and I believed it but I have since been informed by numberous people that he is not going on a mission any time soon.

Yeah, it was on here, but nothing new about it. I think it came up in another QB thread about him and Crompton. Someone then said that Crompton would start because Ainge was going on a mission yaddy, yaddy, yaddy.

Haven't heard anything since.

The only mission I hope he goes on is one to win the East and the Conference. it would be nice for a NC but I don't think we're quite there yet.

He may be Mormon... But not a devout one by any measure by which I am aware of. Usually only the devout ones go on mission.

It tends to be more expected of the males to go on a Mission (its spelled "Mormon" btw), but I wouldn't anticipate he is going... only believe it if you hear it from his mouth. Ainge should be here.

thanks y'all... It'll be interesting to see who starts (as it was last year :banghead: ) but this year we just need to decide and stick WITH IT and either of the two would get the job done

Danny Ainge is a Mormon, Erik Ainge is not. They are related but they do not share the same religion. So, no, Erik will not be going on a Mormon mission now or ever.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Erik Ainge will not be the starter at UT.
He doesn't have a good head on his shoulders when it comes to making good decisions on the field. He may have had a good game at the end of the season against Kentucky but he's still no a good QB. I'd rate him fair as in a C+ rating.

i'm sure nothing good will come of it...by tomorrow he'll be in India or something spreading the "Good Word" and it'll be all about Crompton and if he can come back from surgery or not....ugh.

Morman vs Moorman Moors vs Moops {Seinfield "Bubble Boy"}
You guys are just silly. Leave the kid alone. Coach Cutcliff will get his head screw back on.

Yes! You are completely accurate with your statements! Ainge's freshman season was the aberration not his sophomore season!

Ainge was given all the necessary tools to succeed this past year and he crumbled!

Let’s completely right him off before Cutcliffe has a chance to "coach" him!

*Above statement may contain absolute sarcasm.*

Fulmer spoke to the DFW Alumni group last night and admitted that he should have handled the QB situation differently. He isn't sure how he would have handled it, just differently.

It was a really nice turnout of current coaches, past players that are coaching elsewhere and one Cowboy - Jason Witten. The coaches assn meeting is here in Dallas this week.
