After watching Vince Young yesterday in Nashville I am convinced Eric Ainge can and will play on Sundays. Geez, Ainge on a bad day looks as good as V. Young.

I think if Ainge goes to a team with a good QB coach he will be a good NFL QB. There are some teams out there that need a "good" QB for sure.

Ainge has been a decent QB and at times shows flashes of being a very good college QB, but part of the Volnation's complaint with Ainge this year centered around his unwillingness to take chances downfield. In the NFL most throws are all about squeezing footballs into tight spots. We will see if he has the mindset for that. He certainly has the arm.

If there is anything I've seen from him it's that he is more than willing to try to throw to a covered receiver, putting the ball into a tight spot... because he's had to. Our WRs struggle to seperate from most LBs. Reference: Almost any 3rd down completion he's made to Rogers. He makes about 70% of those passes, I would say.

I don't think he'll be great in the NFL, but I do think he'll be a good backup, maybe a Derek Anderson type where he just kinda ... stumbles into the starting role and keeps it for the year then gets traded away.

I think he was much less willing to take those chances this year. I know part of that is Cut's conservative approach to protecting the football. There more than a few swing passes on third and long this year, and in most of those situations I would have preferred a shot downfield.

I think Ainge has the talent. I still wonder if he has what it takes between the ears.

Ah don't get me started on dense young. Makes me wish we had taken cutler. Vince won't use what got him here his legs. He now wants to be a pocket passer. He will never be a pocket passer. As for ainge he may play on sundays but he needs to fix that scared problem first.

I think Ainge will be drafted but he will be like Tee was a Backup guy or practice squad guy no way he has long life in the NFL.

Troy Smith got snaps in Baltimore last night (granted .... they were blown out of the game at that point)...and even scored a TD....STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED.

Watch highlights from a days worth of NFL games and you will see why there is a high possibility of Ainge at least being able to hang around in the NFL as a back up.

Projecting college QBs into the NFL is the biggest gamble in sports. You simply never know. Hell, Leaf was taken before Manning. Brady was a long shot they thought. Eli, well....

Ainge probably has the arm...but not the toughness. He can't take the punishment to make it in the pros..IMO

Is he going to play flag football at his uncle's house? That's the only way he will ever play on Sunday.

Are you dumb or did you miss 2002-2005 when Vince Young played at Texas??? One of the greatest games in College football history, the 2006 Rose Bowl, and Vince Young was the star and single handedly won that game!!! Dont get me wrong, Ainge is a good QB, but dont be making fun of Vince Young, Erik will never be as good as Vince Young!!!!

The man was talking NFL not college. Vince's college crap isn't translating so well in the NFL to date.

Look at all the QBs that have won the Heisman and see how much success they had in the NFL. Then go back and look at how stupid your comment was.

Palmer is the only one with a respectable pro record.

Ware, Detmer, Wuerffel, Crouch, White and to a degree Leinart suck.
