As I am watching the Cowboys play, they are making a huge deal about Romo's broken pinky. I began to wonder about Coach Fulmer starting Ainge over Crompton early in the season last year, even though he had the same injury. I wonder if that should have been the first indication of just how little confidence the staff had in Crompton. Thoughts???

Fulmer would have been fired last year. Ainge was limited and the staff still felt he was a better option.

I imagine Coach Cut made the QB decisions last year. Fulmer didn't question or influence Coach Cut too much. I'm also sure that Ainge told them he could go which sways a coach a lot when/if they might be on the fence in deciding.

Ainge>>>>>crompton.

If we had Ainge this year, we would be 7-3.

We'd also be looking at having Fulmer as our coach next season. I've been a Fulmer fan and believe it was time for him to go. That being said, maybe Crompton has been a blessing.

I don't know why. They are talking about handing the ball off. Gripping the ball to pass. The same issues Ainge had.

It's a big difference because Romo gets paid even if he doesn't play. Ainge knew he had to play in order to work on getting a chance at the pros. :)

I see what you are saying. I understand Ainge wanting to play, but when he struggled early, I wondered why they continued to go with him. It is just 20-20 hindsight. I just wondered if Cut had that little confidence in Crompton.

Wow...I thought this thread was going to be about which was the better QB.

Glad to see it wasn't

Cut publicly said he didn't like Crompton, thus locking up Stephens and making a play for Pryor, this should have been some indication

I heard on ESPN Farve called him and told him he could play if he wanted too bad enough because he had the same injury last year.

Yea, I heard that same thing last week on the Dan Patrick show. I guess Romo decided he was being too big of a baby and came back this week. I sort of liked Romo before this, but I'm not the biggest fan of players who can't play through their pain.

Thats why Favre is the man and Romo is a wanna be. I never liked Romo, couldn't ever put my finger on why but now its becoming more and more clear. :ermm:

Ainge retired and on deathbed with throwing arm amputated so has to throw opposite arm which is broken>>>>>>> greater than Crompton in prime totally healthy. I love Cromptons desire to play for the vols but kid belongs at division II or some low level program. poor kid is no where near SEC calibur

Crompton = midget
Ainge = tallest midget

We still lose to Bama, Florida and UGA with Ainge.

And using Fulmer's logic, we were 3 plays away from losing to USC, Vandy and KY last year with Ainge.

I know what you are saying. I was only reflecting on the fact that we may have had an early tip on Crompton.
