SIAP. Talked about on Finebaum.

Ainge said if he was Sal he tells one of the guys to step on McCarron's knee and take the 15 yd penalty to get him out of the game. I think that is pathetic to say. Thoughts?

Did you actually hear it, or have you been trolling Alabama boards?
I heard it and it really wasn't nasty. He was telling how it really is on the field. I'd imagine he has more experience in that situation than you...I may be wrong, though.

There are a lot of coaches that would probably send a walk-on out to do the deed, but this is low indeed. Sure I would be happy if he didn't play, but not this way. Plus we do not seem to play well against backup QB's either.

You heard it? Explain how that isn't as bad as it sounds please.

I was witness to that as well. And no, Ainge wasn't kidding. Said also that it wasn't dirty play, just football and was OK.

Agree, Sims looked like a fast Driskell and we all know how that worked out. I'd rather have McCarrons in there and Saban choking the offense down to keep him healthy. That's the best way for Tennessee to win. Stay close and make a couple big plays late and not give bama time to retake the lead.

Heard it too. He also said if the D knows the QB has a bum shoulder, for instance, that given the chance they'd try to drive that shoulder into the ground. That's football.

I assume Ainge would be cool with a Bama player piledriving Bray's head in the turf too.
It's just football..........right?

When Warmack chopblocks Sentimore and ends his season, you better not say **** about it.

As long as the hit is within the rules, why would anyone have a problem with it? As long as Sentimore isn't engaged with another player and Warmack's not chasing guys from behind like the idiot at Vandy last year, it's football.

I heard it too. He was not calling for someone to intentionally take out McCarron. He said he has pain in the knee and they should target it. He also gave examples of how he was targeted with injuries. Anyone who doesn't know injuries are targeted has never played organized sports. Nothing wrong with what Ainge said IMO.

A chopblock is only when a player is engaged. If not, it is just a low block.
