am i the only one that can't wait to see this guy get his hands on the ball next year. He is a speed deamon. so fast. he looked good in the AAA Game last year.

Taylor
Rogers
Brisco
Hancock
Paige
Moore
Jones
O'Neal(if he gets his act together)
Warren(if he come and can play)
Cottom
Stocker

that is 11 very good recievers. Most likely wil only be 9 but still that is alot of balls to get around.

we need to turn one of these speedsters into a Percy Harvin type rb/wr/kr.. Just an all around game breaker and someone that other teams prepare for.

Gerald Jones taking direct snaps perhaps?

I think G jones should take the snap, run a pass option, and throw it to himself.

yeah for a series or so. not just a one time gimmick type thing. make em spend a couple of hours of practice on it. If you recall we spent a whole practice or two tackling someone with a cape on preparing for Tim Tebow. BTW it still did'nt work.

I bet Wisc looks at the GJ plays from the SECCG

Tennesse is just behind the curve.

Jones played a prominent role this summer. He got hurt and then it seems all that they practiced went out the window.

Jones will get several snaps back there as well as play a more prominent role in the WR rotation next year.

Pretty much the same as us looking at the Tebow tapes from all of last year to prepare for this years game?

GJ looks like he's a natural at that option. He started to the strong side, then gunned it upfield. The best thing? He was 10 yards down before anyone fully realized what happened.

That was an awesome play. Mostly because it was TN running it. He could have easily done the Tebow two step and threw it down field.

No one will expect him to throw it.

That's the beauty of it. If they are expecting a throw, and everyone is down field, he has a swath of open field. Get 'em GJ!

It sounds good but we go through this every offseason pumping up guys that underachieve once the season starts. From the sounds of last offseason we were supposed to see Kenny O'Neal light up the SEC this year and it didn't happen. I just hope a handful of the guys you listed do make an impact in 2008.

I understand your point, but the difference is everyone outside of Oneal and Paige have already shown to some degree that they can play at this level.

Agree..you almost gotta have some kind of threat... I dont think jc is alot of speed but he is more than ainge
The funny thing is that when comparing the two rivals profiles coming out of high school Ainge actually had the faster 40 time. Crompton is clearly the more mobile of the two and while he is no Tebow, I think he is mobile enough to buy some time in the pocket or pick up 5 or six yards if nothing is open.

And Crompton is not shy of contact.

Very true. He almost seems to enjoy it.

I was watching highlights from last year, and saw a clip of a UT player literally running over 2 LSU defenders...

I rewound it and realized it was none other than JC. He probably got chewed out for it, but I'm sure that got him some respect from both sidelines.

Of the ones that spent some time on the field this year, Jones looks like the only real playmaker out there. He stood out like berry did for our defense.

100% true, but I wouldn't count out Moore to be a stand-up guy. Apparently he has a good work ethic.

I hope we didn't just play GJ the way we did Saturday just to give our bowl opponents something to think about? I would have hoped that they put Jones in there to help us win the SEC. But in retrospect, that may be the only reason why we played him in the first place. Once Cutcliffe saw that the play worked, he quickly put it on the shelf so that he wouldn't show too many wrinkles in the set up. Winning the SECCG was of secondary concern.
