I was looking on volinsder.com and it says that ahmad paige is visiting next week for the Bama game and i was just going to ask if we have a legit shot at this guy with a committment already out to FSU?

I don't think we have a chance with him.

Paige said it is 50-50 between UF and FSU. He said the FSU situation is scary and that UF is recruiting him the hardest. I think if FSU gets Fisher then they may have the edge.

i don't see how wide receivers would want to go to florida i mean they are stacked and i would want to stand out and maybe be the best wr not behind percy harvin they'll never get name recognition going to florida..

The only reason I remembered Andre Caldwell's name is because Ryan Karl broke his leg in the UT-FLA game in 2005.

I know. But I would have never known who he was unless he wouldn't have gotten injured in that game. Karl stuck him hard.

Alright, there is a rumor on the Scout board that says Paige is leaning towards UT.

I just found out that Melancon and Paige are pretty good friends. We all know Melancon is heavily favoring us - Maybe they want to play together.


That's still a rumor, but it's enough to make me take my comment back about not having a chance with Paige. :fool:

Paige is very good friends with Luther Davis(another DT from LA). They are said to be a package deal which is why FSU will be the team to beat.

Paige talked today about his visit with Troop....

He said that Tennessee is definately in the mix and with Troop being is his positional coach when if he chooses the Vols helps out alot...

We shall see....

I am predicting Paige to UT. I dont just say that because I hope it happens. Because honestly I would rather have some others, such as Dwight Jones, but I just really think Paige's relationship with Trooper will end with a UT commitment. I do not think he will contribute right away. He needs a serious year in the weight room. But, with the depth of this WR class we might not need him to contribure early. He could be special down the road when he gets his body ready.

I agree with that for the most part. I believe he knows he needs to put on 10-20 pounds on his frame before he plays. He would be a great pickup for UT and add to the diversity of the class we already have. I have never seen a class like this at UT before, at least since 94-95.

I think whoever lands Paige lands a potentially dynamic SEC CB and future 1st round pick. I know, I know, he's 4 1/2 years away from that, but it's my feeling.

Doesn't Paige have a high school teammate or friend that he wants to play college football with?

Luther Davis - DT from LA, FSU bound

Rolando Melclanon (god, I can't spell his last name) is supposed to be friends with him.

Quentin Hancock looked pretty slim and he played as a true freshman this year. Last year Josh Briscoe got some catches and he was very, very skinny. I saw him in person during the summer before the '05 season. He was very slim. Probably one of the skinniest football players I've ever seen.
