We all love the names of top coaches at successful other schools. Who wouldn't it invites excitement!

Keep in mind agents will float names out there just to get great coaches at top 20 programs now contract extensions and raises.

Don't get played like a fiddle in your hopes of current successful coaches at programs they have built up to powerhouses.

It's a $$$ play for them where they are at. Not to come rebuild Tennessee and complete with Alabama.

GBO and ready for Tennessee to regain its place.

I'm anti Gruden. Too many red flags for me.

Miles or Kelly prefer Miles but Tennessee just needs a successful proven COLLEGE head coach.

Anti-Gruden? Red flags? *****?

Not coached football in 9 years.... what type of staff does he put together from recent contacts of modern college football

Hasn't recruited in 20 + years

A nfl coach who had GM's put players in place for him.

Has been living the good life easy $$$ no headaces.
Could the job prove to stressful.

Kinda like the idea of watching tv then deciding to tackle a massive outdoor project in 100 degree weather.

I agree. Barely above .500 as a NFL coach. Only won one super bowl, with Tony Dungey’s players. Hasn’t been able to get a job in nearly a decade since being fired. No chance he would be a successful college coach. How would he be able to recruit? Doesnt know the rules and regulations. No way he could adjust to the 20-hour limit. We best move on and focus on college retreads or up and comers.

It's so shocking to me that miles name comes up in almost every thread. You do realize he was fired by a rival sec team for being a terrible coach (and honestly for being dumb). I mean, what about that says he's our guy? Jeeze. What's next is there will be a thread saying we should wait until mcelwayne is fired and good after him. Lol

Who are your REALISTIC options that would come here?

Not coaches at top flight programs that are lobbing for more $$$

Or do you want another try at a assistant coach?

Mike Hamilton, is that you. How have you been?
You would rather have grass eating game blower. So you realize Miles got fired from LSU with good reason. Game day coaching slightly better than Lyle. If we are going to gamble go get Wilson.

Les was fired. Richt was fired. Both proven SEC winners that stayed too long. Important to note LSU changed AD's in Miles tenure.... that's important

How's Miami doing with its fired SEC proven winner that stayed to long at Georgia?

The same Tony Dungy players that went 9-7 the year before.

Jon Gruden was a GREAT X&O's coach 10 years ago there is no arguing that.

The NFL is different GM's assemble your players for you no meetings with boosters. No sucking up to parents, kids, and high school coaches for players.

Different animal college vs the NFL

You want a guy that was fired for sucking just last year

Yes, proven winner only Saben has been better in last 10 years in SEC

Year off to reflect and see his faults.

I'll take that all day everyday. He is proven!!

Ask Miami how there hire from Georgia is going after he was fired for similar reasons as Miles

5-0 and leading their division (if not conference), in an arguably more competitive conference (Florida State, Clemson, Louisville, NC State, Virginia Tech, etc).

How's about that? Georgia's happy, and Miami is real happy.

Yeah that non SEC schedule sure makes CMR look great. To bad he never won when it mattered in the SEC
