After recruiting hit a lull, what an exciting week of camp

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but neither this year, nor in any other year for over the past 100+ years has a recruiting class been defined and set in stone in June.

Are you honestly so naive to believe the class isn't going to change?

And just in case you hadn't noticed, since the initial post I responded to, we picked up 3 commits. Further illustrating your naivety and/or ignorance.

No one followed recruited here until you came on the board in 2008. Thank you for enlightening the rest of us with your presence.

Of the top 20 QB's on rivals, all but two have committed already. So you expect most of them to decommitt in the next 6 months? And I'm the one who is naive?

Yeah, you're not making any sense. I recommend trying words with fewer syllables next time.

Why the hell would we hope most of the top 20 QBs decommit when we all ready have a top 20 QB committed for this class?

You're right. At this point, it's not naivete. It's purely ignorance.

I wish the mods could take off all the rivals, scout, espn, and 247 rankings off of the players names on this board when someone looks at the players thread. The only thing allowed should be highlights of the players we recruits. Whats funny is that there are people on here that think they know more then then the coaching staff! I think some believe that our coaches go to rivals.com every morning and only try to recruit 4 and 5 star players. LOOK AT THE PLAYERS TAPE BEFORE YOU BASH A PLAYER!!!!

1. Its June you moron. Many moons till NSD.

2. We have our qb for this class and he is for real.

3. Get some sun cause all that Seattle weather has put water on your brain.

They could sign all 2* players, for all I care, as long as they know how to coach them up and get them to win games, that's all that matters. I don't pay ANY attention to stars anymore, just the W/L column. That's the best indicator of how recruiting is really doing.

Have to win the battle in February to win the battles in Sep-Jan.

He's a 3 star and the #19 prospect. Most people would have preferred a higher rated prospects.

To your earlier comment, is this few enough syllables for you:

I don't imagine you were satisfied with getting the #8 QB in Peterman this year, or the #7 QB in Bray two years ago?

It's funny after following recruiting last year to see everyone's reaction this year. You can definitely tell who has and hasn't followed recruiting in the past.

Peterman is the best prospect they signed but he's a 3 star on 247. Vandy and Miss State both have commitments from 4 star QBs this class.

You don't have to be a Vol fan, you know? I don't think anyone else, especially the coaching staff would be crushed.

This doesn't even merit a response. You're so clueless it hurts.

Stars aren't everything

Alabama just defeated LSU for the NC, here are there rival recruiting rankings over the last 4 yrs:

Alabama
2012 #1
2011 #1
2010 #5
2009 #1

LSU
2012 #18
2011 #6
2010 #6
2009 #2

There is an obvious correlation between recruiting and success on the field.

You claim you follow recruiting. Then you know as well as I do that UT offered at least 5 higher rated prospects before we settled on the one we signed. UT offered:

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com Ranking - Rivals.com pro-style quarterbacks 2013

#2 Morris
#3 Burns
#7 Hackenburg
#14 Connor
#17 Allen

before we ended up with #19 Ferguson. I'm not knocking Ferguson, that's just a fact.

You were talking about Peterman for some reason in the post above. If you were referring to Ferguson I apologize for the mixup and agree. QB recruiting is such a crapshoot, though. Kiffin offered 7-8 guys before Bray miraculously fell into our laps, pretty much unknown at the time.
