That we are in for some very long years. There were a few bright spots.
1. Bray looks like he has the potential to be a very good QB at this level. However the officials looked away from a TON of holding calls for both he and Simms.
2. J Jackson is the real deal and looks to step up in a major way this year.
3. Milton can be and I stress CAN be a major player at this level and the next if he will dedicate himself. He dropped a "no way you drop that" pass and he runs very lazy patterns at times esp when the ball isn't coming his way.
4. Jones again is proving to be a leader with a ton of heart. He looked like he was having fun out there yesterday and his patterns looked as sharp as ever.
5. Walker and Williams appear to be legit D linemen. I say appear because we are awful at Oline.

Over all I am very worried about our football team and program. Our O line gave up 7 total sacks and that was with officials looking the other way A LOT.
There were a TON of breakdowns on the White defense and had Simms been a real QB the White D would have been burned a lot.

I won't say anything about the play calling because I now a lot of the times coaches use these settings to see how their team reacts to different calls and therefore make calls that they may not in a real game.

But I think we are in for a very long year.

All due respect Beef...have you heard anyone say anything differant from this about the upcoming year?

We've been hearing for a while that this year was going to be bad...Kiffin leaving only made it look even worse..

The big questions are how long will it take to get back and is Dooley the guy to make that happen?

That wasn't aimed at anyone. However there are some thinking we win 7-8 games but tend to look past those with mental challenges. I was just sayin...

Also I don't think DD is the guy to do it. He seems like a nice guy but I'm not sold.
As I've said many times, I hope I'm wrong...

I came away a little more optimistc than you did...

1. Tyler Bray is the future start him from day 1
2. If John Brown qualifies our defensive front will be good inside and out
3. Janzen Jackson will be a STUD kickoff returner, he was very explosive
4. With our weak o-line, I like the idea of going shotgun and running swing passes and gettin the ball in Pooles hands in space.
5. We were missing Stocker, Martin, and Rogers and Palardy... 3 people I believe will be huge contributors this year. When the 1's are all healthy and have time to run together, there is some talent there.

Well, my theory is that if Dooley has anything less than 6 wins he and Hamilton will get canned and Fulmer will be brought in as the AD.

CDD's first spring with us..how can you judge him already? So far to me,hes better than what we had,and i feel in time, we will win with this coach. Nobody better wanted the job.

That's the way I took the post...

Sooner or later, we all have to come to grips with the complete and utter sucktitude the next few years hold for most on this board.

Oh Dear God NO!

Look, MH needs to go but if fulmer is the answer then the power to be should just leave the AD position empty.

I think this is how most fans feel(at least the ones I know).

That's only going to work against weak SEC teams (or none at all) and maybe one or two OOC teams. If all we can throw are screens and swing passes we'll end up with very short gainers or negative yardage.

We've got to be able to throw short intermediate passes across the middle to our TE's and WR's, post routes, and at least an occasional go route from time to time to keep the defense honest....but with this young and inexperienced OL, that's going to be extremely difficult especially the first half of the season.

I'm not pessimistic when it comes to this year--possible realistic. I think we need to win all our OOC games and beat KY, VU, and one or both of UGA and SCjr to be a bowl contender.

We all knew this year was going to be a rough one. I just hope the fans realize what CPF & LK left CDD with; a clean slate and [nearly] bare cupboard on the OL.
Because IMO, any success we have this year is going to rely on how they play. If they stink, we won't be in many games. If they gel and play well, we might pull a surprise or two this year.

Seems a bit contradictory. You say it's too early to judge him, yet you have your mind made up that he's better than what we had? What are you basing that opinion on? Like it or not, Kiffin and Co. took a team that was 5-7 the year before they arrived, played a tougher schedule, and went 7-6. Things really did seem to be on the right track.

We agreed on 1,3 and 4 essentially. Also I said with our weak O line it's hard to tell just how good our D line is.

I was judging what HE put on the field. What's wrong with that? I did the same thing with Majors, Fulmer and Kiff.

Heres what i base my facts on..look back at last years spring practices, last years spring games..John C couldnt hit a reciver with a hand off, and all you heard is how we were doomed..same as this spring..you quote Kiffs record, CDD hasnt even played a game yet, give him time...and as far as me saying we have a better coach, if you cant see the difference between the two men i feel sorry for ya, .if i was gonna send my son off away from home..i druther he be with Dooley than one and done Kiff...more to Football than X's and O's.....
