Tennessee has a man with a lot of confidence and a plan.

Kiffin said you couldn't get any better crisis control than working in Oakland.

Called Oakland "dysfunctional"

No timeline on wins or championships but Tennessee will play better.

A fence will be set up around the state. There should be no reason a Tennessee native leaves the state to play football.

Called Urban out.

Announced David Reaves as Recruiting Coordinator

Going to Memphis right now to talk to the number 1 recruit in the state.

Doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon.

The most physical players will play.

Freshmen will get fall camp to prove they can play.

good recap JG. Did you get a feeling from anyone else there (players, media, etc) about how they view the hire?

JG def had the best seat out of all of us I'm sure. How did the players there take it?

Gerald Williams liked it.

Gerald expects practices to be much more physical and wants to earn the respect of the new staff.

I thought he seemed really nervous at first. He was fidgeting with his hands and swaying back and forth like he was slow dancing. I do believe he settled down and finished strong, but I didn't expect him to be that nervous.

He also said he had no interest in going back to the NFL.

Also had a lot of respect for the former staff.

My favorite part was saying he was here to win and whoever gets him the best chance to win is going to play.

Justin - he didn't say recruiting coordinator did he? I watched it on the live stream, and I thought he just annouced Reaves as an assitant coach in which the official position will be determined later once the entire staff was in place. He did explain how Reaves was the recruiting coordinator at South Carolina though.

I liked the comments about being physical. He said he didn't know how many times we would run or how many times we would throw, but we would be physical. If players aren't physical they won't play.

I thought the exact same thing about the beginning.....very nervous.

Correct. He said having a former recruiting coordinator of an SEC school will help and his title will come later.

Just kind of took for granted what Reaves will be here

Kiffin thinks that we can win NOW.

"We have enough here to win now," he said.

I'd agree, but think about the kind of pressure you'd be feeling your first day speaking to your new fan base. I'd be willing to bet there aren't many people, NFL/college experience or not, that wouldn't be a little jittery.

I thought that he actually watched his words in that area...he said Reaves would be on the staff in "some capacity"...I don't think it is a done deal that he will be the recruiting coordinator...and I hope that is because Coach O will be that man if he comes.

no question kiffen will recruit well. many recruits and coaches have said that SC contacts them far more than any other program. pretty impressive considering their competive advantage.
