After all is said and done Lane Kiffin really ____

We didn't receive any sanctions from it, did we?

How many schools have received sanctions as a result of him?

We did actually get some serious sanctions but they weren't from him

All facts. Laugh away

Lane racked up 12 level 2 violations in a year of being here. An average of one per month for the entire length of his employment

Lane (and UT) were also stated to have failed to "promote an atmosphere of compliance"

Those accusations and hearings didn't help our case when we were back under the gun for Pruitt's issues only a few years later. While Heupel and co have done a great job at mitigating the cumulative effects of those two chowderheads, if you think the penalties we did get were not pretty heavy then you need to lay off the crack. Even then, we were VERY lucky to avoid an even worse fate

Why a certain portion of UT fans take every opportunity to schlurp the mans cajones, I will never understand.

Re:USC-the NCAA pounded them partly because they hired Kiffin. It was a tone deaf hire by the Trojans from day 1. The sanctions actually came down when Kiffin was coach and were much more severe than USC or Kiffin anticipated when he agreed to take the job. Gee, I wonder why Lane??

Lane himself has said that he would have never taken the USC job had he known how extensive the penalties were gonna be. May have been a blessing in disguise for them if he had turned them down honestly. Who knows if Lane would have ever turned them down though. All you have is his word and what he says, which is worth basically nothing........

The amusing part of it all is that Lane cried to anyone and everyone at USC that the sanctions were as close as you could get to the death penalty without achieving that token. The penalties UT received were actually much more extensive.......

All facts. Laugh away.

Ok. It's still not the reason I am glad he isn't here

Yeah, we all got carried away in those 12 months he was here didn't we?

It was like we had to support the guy and defend him and all, but I can say I was a bit nervous once he started running his mouth off here.

Our true fatal mistake was the rushed Dooley hire after Lane vamoosed. That is what really killed the program for a decade plus.

I wish Kiffin would have matured some after the Oakland stint. The Pruitt hire totally exacerbated the issues with the acute violations

Lane is a bad human being but he’s perfect for the current environment of college football imo. The portal is perfect for him. A mercenary coach renting a bunch of mercenary players.

Heupel has actually coached a playoff game while Kiffin has never been there and might not ever go at least until it expands to 24
That’s a pretty weak argument considering the ONLY reason he didn’t coach in a playoff game is he took another job.

I didn’t like Lane when he was here. Not even a little. He was frigid, cocky and aloof, and a bad cheater. “Massive prick” wound be a good description.

The guy I see today, particularly in front of the media, isn’t the same coach. I don’t know how much trouble he’s been hit with since he left, but I’m guessing it’s zero. I find him an appealing character and if you think this isn’t entertainment, then you’re naive.

It’s good to know the morality police are patrolling and that people can’t change or reinvent themselves.

I was glad to see Ole Miss didn't let him coach the playoffs.
They did to him a little of what he was doing to them - keeping him out of the spotlight.

Plus it was a wise move on the ADs part to put your weight behind what was obviously going to be your next coach.
Showed the world you have confidence in what you already have to be able to win.

Dude has his head so far up his ass he can’t see daylight. Kiffin hasn’t been in trouble? Sanctions at USC which ended with him getting fired in Tempe. Fired at Alabama before a championship game because he couldn’t keep his snake in the cage. And while what he did at Ole Miss isn’t on the same level, anyone with any character whatsoever would have handled that exit differently. Just shows you’re a low character person that glazes other low character people

If LK was/is an aspiring wannabe and failed/failing, then “want a be” is appropriate. Credit autocorrect for accidentally getting something right.

I dislike seeing Lane Kiffin threads in the football forum. He hasn't crossed my mind once since the last thread.

I am glad he isn't our coach. That being said, I always thought this was silly reasoning. He hasn't gotten any other schools in trouble. You do realize we did actually hire a guy who actually did get us into serious trouble, right? There are a lot of reasons I am glad Kiffin isn't our coach. This isn't one of them
This is me being facetious:
The only person who got us in trouble isn’t a guy. Plowman decided to cooperate with the NCAA while Michigan and LSU have shown everyone how to deal with the NCAA like businessmen.

This is me being serious:
While I believe in doing the right thing, I despise showing respect to an organization that doesn’t deserve it after the inconsistency they have shown.

The best thing UT has done was with NIL where we followed everything perfectly and then got the attorney general involved over Nico.

According to the world atlas 1860 Mississippi had 436,000 enslaved people, and by comparison Louisiana had 330,000 so Lane Kiffin is an idiot academic idiot.
