Some of you go to practices. Most of you listen to the Radio shows out there. I don't get to.

so please, someone enlighten me.

Why, when Ainge is in obvious pain and is an obvious liability throwing the ball (and Handing it off),

WHY don't we go to Crompton until Ainge is full strength?

as in, as soon as he threw that first cupcake of an eight yard out in the Cal game....yeah, that would have been just about the time Crompton should have gone in, IMO.
Are Fulmer and Co. Scared of Crompton?

Then we're running the West coast offense....that's news to me.

why is there virtually NO long range passing game?

If he's a liability throwing the ball, it's not very obvious to me.

exactly his numbers are good and would be better if his recievers could stop dropping balls. i think austin dropped 2 or 3 that touched his hands

Thank you GaVol!

About the only thing decent about our offense right now IS Ainge.

oh yeah. i cannot imagine how bad we would be if we didn't have ainge. we would have scored 7 points today if it weren't for ainge.

ainge is the only one that can make the throws that are being made. he is leading these young recievers in the right routes (leading them as far as throwing the ball to the right places)

Rushing for 5 yards doesn't help, or the drops, or the turnovers, and insufficient WR play in general.

Because effectively we're running the west coast offense and have no deep threat to speak of at WR.

Ainge cant throw the ball when he's moving very well. I don't know if he can throw a deep ball accurately, he rarely does.

THERE we are....that's what I was looking for. Thank you.

but the problem remains....we put a lot of recruiting eggs in the Crompton basket, and we're not confident enough to put him in when (performance or not) there's a health issue with Ainge.

Remember, Tebow is a sophomore too.

just saying....

I agree with that. If there's one area where he might not be as good right now as he was last year it's throwing on the move. I don't know if that's due to his hand or what, but he's a had several throws get away from him when he gets out of the pocket.

Ainge supposedly told the CBS crew that he could throw fine, as long as he "wasn't rushed" and "had his rhythm"

Seriously, what have we seen from Crompton to make us believe he can step up and get us a win? Ainge is about the only thing we have going right now. We all better pray really hard that his pinky is the only thing that gets injured this season.

The lack of running game could be a direct result of the lack of downfield passes. The D's you have faced are in NOWAY afraid of UT's receivers running by them and catching a bomb. That allows them to put the clamps on the run, and just give up those 5-8 yard passes that Ainge hit all day. He is a great QB, but yo ucan really tell watching him that the usual zip is not on his throws, and the deep ball is non-existent.

For the most part, I didn't see FL doing all that much special to stop the run tonight.

Here is my .02 for the board. You have heard from me before, and there are several reasons that I think this way. One of the reasons is what I hear from people in the know.

Ainge is not and has never really been a leader on this football team. He is easily rattled to this day, and typically doesn't respond well to pressure. Crompton, on the other hand, thinks that he can run through a brick wall.

Granted, that doesn't mean that he is a good QB, but after watching Tebow, it is imperative that your QB display toughness and leadership. Furthermore, if Crompton were given consistent coaching with the first team, and had an actual game plan (non existent in the Arky game.) I think once he has his opportunity he will do well with this football team.

I'm all for playing Crompton after several of the throws I saw tonight and the backhanded hand-offs.

I think they should've tried Crompton for a series or two just for a change up.

The Gators would assume we were going to keep it on the ground and Crompton can go deep.

What does it hurt when your down three scores?

Just DO something Phil.

My point exactly, Lex. why do people "in the know" say that crompton isn't playing? is there that much belief in Ainge, or is Crompton doing something idiotic in practice that we don't see?
