AFC Title Game: Manning's Last Stand

No, it wouldn't be the same for Peyton if he were playing any other team other than New England. This is an opportunity to exorcize (?sp) a demon (Brady and the Pats). To beat any other team, the Jim Rome's and Hatvols would say "Yeah, but he could never beat the Brady and Co." Realistically, he may never get the matchup again against Brady in the title game!

The essence of the showdown in the RCA Dome is not Dungy vs. Billichek or either teams O vs. D but Manning vs. Brady!

I agree it will excise some demons, and stop some critisism...
There's a bad track record to over come, at least Vinateri has a Horseshoe on his helmet

After living in New Orleans for eight years, it will be a hard choice if both the Colts and the Saints make it to the SB, but it's one I hope I have to make. Peyton is OUR man....

There is not a single person in New England that wouldn't trade all three of the Pats Super Bowls for another Red Sox World Series. I'm getting tired of their success. I'd rather see a team with a great fan base like the Saints or Bears (and to a lesser degree the Colts) win it. The Patriots won three and no one gave a crap. Winning four isn't going to be any different. Go somebody else, stomp the Pats.

That good ol Saints fanbase... where in years past, half the stands might be full, and the people that were there wore bags over their head.

Not to mention if the Chargers had won, the AFC title game would have been played in San Diego instead of RCA!!

I don't think the bags over heads thing was being bad fans. They were still at the games. They just wanted to see some improvement. When you go for years and years and years and don't get any better, I think fans are justified in their small protests.
