(This is too big for the Pub)

This weekend the Colt's game vs. the Patriots basically comes down to former UT QB Peyton Manning vs. ex-Michigan star Tom Brady....mano/mano.

If Peyton leads his team to the Superbowl he will cement his legacy (and possibly shutup the Nega-Mannings). A win by Brady's team would further elevate the relatively young Pat QB in the stratosphere of QB's like Montana, Staubach, Bradshaw and very few others.

Maybe our man can pull it out. Go Colts!:clapping:

I love the onion....

Colts quarterback Peyton Manning said Monday he is looking forward to wrapping up his football season and relaxing with friends and family while watching the Super Bowl, a tradition that goes back nine years in Manning's house and far longer in his extended family. "I believe in working hard each and every Sunday, but when the Super Bowl rolls around, that's my day to relax,"

how long did it take for John Elway to win his first Superbowl? 14 seasons? I think Peyton has plenty of time left if this season doesn't go the Colts' way.

I've had the chance to see a lot of things happen in my life time of which some of these may not be very big to some of you but here is my list, and not in any particular order: (1) a 300 game in bowling; (2) The Vols win a National Championship in football; (3) The Atlanta Braves to win a World Series; (4) visit Europe; (5) see as much of the U.S. as possible -maybe all 50 states - I've seen or been to over 40; (6) see Peyton Manning win an NFL title! (7) live at least 15 years past my second retirement-which would make me 82 by then(currently 58).There probably more but these are good for now.

well he's not our man. he may be your man, but that doesn't mean i'm rooting for him. as for how long it took elway to win the super bowl at least he got there several times.. just took him awhile to win it. Go Patriots, stomp the Colts.

Go Patriots, stomp the Colts.

There is not a single person in New England that wouldn't trade all three of the Pats Super Bowls for another Red Sox World Series. I'm getting tired of their success. I'd rather see a team with a great fan base like the Saints or Bears (and to a lesser degree the Colts) win it. The Patriots won three and no one gave a crap. Winning four isn't going to be any different. Go somebody else, stomp the Pats.

So, you are rooting for the Pats? Nice.

I can't help but wonder how anyone that is a true dyed in the wool Vol fan can not root for Peyton to win this one. If it happens, it will speak volumes for UT. Peyton is all about the University of Tennessee, and he always lets that be known.:clapping:

I'm pulling for Peyton, but I wish he was playing San Diego instead of New England.

The Pats have owned the Colts in the post season.

Its definately not his "last stand". Addai can only get better. Their defense seems to have adjusted to the run. He'll be back. But this is a defining game for him...reminds me of McNabb before he beat my Falcons to go to the super bowl.

I don't think it's his last stand. I'd just feel better about it if it was against SD instead of the Pats..

The "D"'s really stepped up the last 3 games, and it's in Indy so they have a good shot..

A lot of free agents for the Colts this year. I hope they make it. I had still rather have the Pats. Not sure that the Cots D could stop LT. The odds are in our favor.

No, it wouldn't be the same for Peyton if he were playing any other team other than New England. This is an opportunity to exorcize (?sp) a demon (Brady and the Pats). To beat any other team, the Jim Rome's and Hatvols would say "Yeah, but he could never beat the Brady and Co." Realistically, he may never get the matchup again against Brady in the title game!

The essence of the showdown in the RCA Dome is not Dungy vs. Billichek or either teams O vs. D but Manning vs. Brady!
