So the wife and I are likely going to Oxford next week but I don't have tickets...yet.

I have a few things brewing, but I thought I'd ask VN too...

What is the outlook as far as ticket scalping?

Is it worth it to risk going down without tix & try to find a deal or would it be best to play it safe and get them before hand?

Thanks in advance...

I would say go for it, at UT, scalpers are everywhere so im sure they will be in Oxford too.

I managed two on ebay in the UT section for about 71 each, including shipping.

eBay is great for tix to anything, just make sure your seller is reputable! Going without tix and scalping should be fine.

The biggest issue in Oxford is accomodations. I have stayed as far away as Tupelo or even Tunica.

The tailgating in the Grove and the drinks on the square more than make up for any inconvenience, though.

I am from Memphis and would attend Ole Miss games regulatly. I never purchased tickets in advance and this was when Eli was there. You should haveno problem finsing scalpers.

I'm heading down as well. What about traffic and parking? Are these things problems?

Since you are going with your wife, I suggest a pair of sunglasses with a very dark/mirrored lenses so she can't tell what you are looking at.

My wife is by far the coolest girl I've ever met. She knows I'll take a look here and there--I'm married, not dead...no worries there.

Besides...I out kicked my coverage, when it comes to my better half.

One of my friends is the assistant dean of students @ Ole Miss and he told me taht it would be easy to scalp tickets for the game. He said go to the Grove, that is the hot spot for scalpers.

Thx. Backs up everything I've ever heard. My cousin works in the study abroad department @ OM...he said the same.

Being an early game, traffic on 7 and 6 will probably be pretty thick. Parking has not been easy in my 7 or 8 trips to VHS. Go as early as possible.

You, sir, are in for a treat! Oxford is a "don't die before you go there" experience.... Sounds like it'll be extra cool because you're wife is OK with you checcking out the scenery. Trust me.... it is SPECTACULAR!

I have a similar situation for this weekend's Memphis game.
Where is the best place to look for scalpers before home games?
Also, where's the best place to line up for the VOL WALK? :hi:

I wasn't that impressed with the ladies in the grove when i went the last time we played. Maybe if you are into sorostitutes. average girls with cake-y makeup is all i saw. sure, there are some pretty ones, but it's a state school in the south! i expected more. i actually think MTSU has a hotter female populace than oxford. i much prefer knoxville on a game day. the game i played in the grove was 'count the black people'. see if you can beat my record of 4. (one of them was definitely an ex-player, too.) the stadium was more integrated.
