What a dumb decision. Adidas' equipment is wack. There's a reason they are paying more than Nike. They know they're an inferior product. Choosing a subpar product for money is not wise. Dumb dumb decision by Tennessee.
I know you get a lot of flack on here D4H, but I agree with you. This is a short-sighted decision for short term gain.

Maybe it's an age thing, but i don't understand why people care if its Nike, Adidas or whoever. As long as its orange and white and UT is winning, who cares?

I have both Nike and Addias and they both fit and look perfectly fine
I don't care personally. But I do care about recruiting and I happen to believe that this will cost us recruits. Happy to be proven wrong though.

All you swoosh worshippers are going to look stupid when we don’t have a single player decommit over this.

We will be the biggest Adidas brand. Nike always treated us like a second class citizen even when we started winning in almost every sport. (By the way, our first 4 or so years with Nike were the worst in the history of our AD, so they never did anything to help our brand anyway. We didn’t start winning because we wore Nike. We did it because we finally hired competent administrators and coaches.)

Oh I hope you're right! I hope I end up looking like the biggest dumbass this side of Tuscaloosa over this! I really do! But I'm not going to lie and pretend it's not a concern of mine. It just is.

BTW, my guess is all of our recruits were made WELL aware of this change before today. So if anyone in the 2026 class hasn't decomitted yet over it, I doubt they will.

I wasn't really thinking about a mass exodus of current commits anyway. I'm thinking more about the future when we are in head to head recruiting battles with Nike schools. I can absolutely see scenarios where all else being equal, a recruit might choose the Nike school simply because Nike is by far the preferred apparel brand.
