During the second half.. even if the game was out of reach.. i saw Crompton actually pass the ball down field. I was mildly impressed with his improvement. Also, he had no INTs..

He did seem to struggle with timing. I felt like Cromptons second half performance held keep his starting job. I don't know if it was the offensive play calling or what, but i felt like we out matched AU when we were in the 5 wide set.

He had moments where he wasn't dreadful. That's a start.

But, on a day where there qb may have taken a baby step in the right direction, the receivers took ten in the wrong direction. The passing game is a wreck.

I think sometimes they hold Crompton back too much...If all he is throwing is swing passes and screens then when he has to take a shot down field he is not going to be accurate....
I know, I know...He is not very accurate anyway but really what choice do we have...We have a better chance of moving the ball through the air with 8-9 in the box then we do running the ball...I think if Crompton could come out and make a pass like he did to Stocker early in the game it might force teams to back off the line a little bit...Otherwise its going to stay an all out blitz on him every passing down....

If Kiffin hasn't pulled Crompton by now he's not going to.

Maybe, just maybe, what Crompton needs is a quick pace so that he doesn't have time to think about it.

Again, just maybe.

Crompton was impressive for sure in the 2nd half.......... the receivers were the big let down

I thought he had some improved moments too. It was the first game where I remember him lobbing the ball over a rushing LB to the RB heading toward the flats. He usually tries to bullet the ball past the LB rather than lob it over. Of course, when he does that, it usually bounces off the RB's hands.

I am really excited about the GA game. I think Crompton will come out and have a consistent game. I think the running game will dominate, but I think some will be surprised with Crompton's accuracy. I agree with the earlier comment about not holding him back as much. Lets just hurry the offense up and get quick hits. Recievers were a hugh letdown in the AU game and we are not hoping for a repeat performance.

Not sure what you're smoking but it's probably illegal, watch out for the police. Drug charges are serious.

Hate to agree with this, but it's true. We need to inject someone with workability with Crompton in the passing attack.

Be it Hardesty, Brown and Oku or Nuke and Teague or all 3... watching Crompton and Hancock/Jones/Moore is like sitting in a room while someone drags their nails across a chalkboard. I don't think they will be able to get those 4 on the same page/book.

I agree.. He defintely had his time in the Auburn game.. Hopefully he can build off that..

IMO he led one meaningful drive. The one before half time. YEE HAW, HE BE GOOD NOW!

You know your QB is bad when your cheering more for a decent punt then a 3rd down conversion...

Also, I agree our WR's are worthless, like seriously, make your arms grow like a foot or two and CATCH THE BALL. And what's with QH not catching the ball with his ears. It was thrown PERFECTLY to his head!! I mean i've heard of needing to get, "your head into the game," but come on.

I been saying this. the kid can throw a freakin bullet pass. he just cant seem to hit the target 90% of the time. I think had he been coached by kiffin the past few seasons, that he would be a awesome QB. Its just now its to late for him. I think by the end of the season he will be a decent qb, sadly its just to late.

My take on the game was in the first half, the recievers completely gave up on Crompton. In the third quarter, they were just shocked the ball was catchable, and it all got together in the fourth. Just too little too late I think. If they can build off the fourth quarter, and even remotely do the same in the first half of Georgia, the dogs will have a very long day ahead of them. All we have to do is keep Green in check, and Cox will not beat us.

He missed the most open receiver I've ever seen him miss, which is saying alot, in the 3rd quarter. Auburn blitzed the corner, and the safety was covering the other side of the field. It was a 3rd down play before we converted a short fourth down play. Other than that major error I felt alot better about his play than I have the rest of the season.

It amazes me how well Hardesty,Brown, Oku and Teague catch passes from JC. They are the ones with the least experience at catching passes from JC. Hardesty did not play enough with JC, last year, not to include him in my statement. JC did rush that 1 pass in the endzone to the TE, that if he led him better would have been 6. Our veteran receivers ar just getting it done at the WR position and not all of it can be placed at JC, if he hits their hands they should catch it. If he throws it behind them or hits them in the helmet that is on JC. One other thing I have noticed is when JC is rolling out and under pressure the WR's are not breaking off their pattern and trying to come back and help the QB complete a pass.

I concur with this...I think his brain just gets in the way. I did notice in the hurry up O that he looked and performed better. Make it fast pace so he doesn't have time to think too much....just react!!!

Careful now. He is ordinarily so dreadful that 3 minute periods of serviceable throwing may momentarily make it look like he is Bob Griese.
