According to Scout.com...

According to Scout.com, UT football is ranked # 12 in the SEC in recruiting thus far this year. Even Vandy is ahead of us. The lack of better recruiting may not bode very well for us over the next few seasons... unless some changes are made.

Get recruits want to commit to winning programs that will help them get the attention of NFL scouts - not Comedy Central scouts.

GBO... replace Dooley and his defense assistants!

LOL. Two related things cause this. One, the team has not performed as expected. Two, the coaching staff's future is in doubt.

Players do not like uncertainty. Only homerism can overcome that... like Georgia kids who would never go anywhere but UGA. UT doesn't have a homer base of highly talented recruits to draw on.

If Dooley survives then we'll just see what kind of salesman he really is. If he doesn't... then we'll see what the next guy can do. Either way, Dooley has gotten a large number of very good recruits interested in UT apart from the coaching situation. They just want that situation resolved.

Am I the only one that thinks talent is not the problem on this team? I think the Jr'
s and Soph's are pretty solid. How is that this "huge dropoff" im reading about?

Tennessee will win the last three games. Recruiting will pick up and Tennessee will have a top 15 class. They will get Bell, Green, North and some of the others. Patience is the order fo the day.

:lolabove::eek:lol:

we may win against Kentucky. maybe

Please stop it! Way to early to judge recruiting class. Look Rivals. We are way ahead of Oregon, K state, and for you Charlie Strong supporters Louisville is 72 in recruiting at this point. All this will even out by Feburary then we can judge. Way to early to panic.

We're still in the Rivals top 25 so I'm not quite ready to jump off a bridge...

Recruting is overrated. You dont have to recruit well to be good and win games.

Reading through this thread, I was just thinking the same thing.
Tho it does help a lot,
But just look at where Kansas state is right now and compare their recruiting classes for the last 3 years.
And they are contending for a spot in the Big game, with a coach that was pushed out and returned to show he could still coach.

I wonder how Peterson, Patterson and Strong are doing with recruiting this year?

In the conferences they are in they do not need top 25 classes to win. The problem right now for UT is there is at least 3 other teams in the east alone that have better classes than us. If Dooley is to ever be sucessful here he is going to have to draw in top 10 classes every year.
