Interesting that a coach kind of shares our same concerns in playing Tech. Id be interested to know who gave this quote. TBH it sounds a lot like a former Vol offensive coordinator.

I don't really understand it my self. Playing them in Atlanta, they're not widely regarded as world beaters, but then at the same time they're a pain in the butt to prepare for. Paul Johnson also seems to have a massive SEC sized chip on his shoulder and relishes every opportunity to beat an SEC team and take a little shot at the conference.

From what I understand it was kind of a take or it leave it thing.

Georgia Tech has been fighting for years to play a kickoff game in the dome. Finally got one and Tennessee was offered to play in the game knowing GT was the opponent and that was the only option. Just what I've heard from the Tech side of things.

And no this isnt some backhanded comment that since we cant ever make the SECCG we need to schedule games there.

I think the OP is saying the Vols should be more worried about losing players than the game

The comment of the coach above is probably dukes head coach, he does not like GT one bit. Paul johnson is actually respected by a lot of the other coaches. Dabo being one of them. GT does not play dirty or you would see a lot more guys being hurt, and like I said before there are are a lot more game than not if other teams not getting hurt.

Hopefully is a good clean game from both sides.

Yep over clean drive blocks, even the announcers after re watching it said neither guy got hurt from cut blocks. If you go watch the game on YouTube it's about mid way through the first Q.

I agree. I think we win by 17+. But Hart is asinine for scheduling them. Like I said in another thread, if we come out of the game without anyone on the DL hurt, it's a win for us.

Have you seen that interview with D Taylor? Balls or going to be flying around their heads like UFO's, 4 backs ready to prove themselves behind arguably the best O line in college ball this year. They are going to be outscored. Plain and simple. I bet we hang 40+ on them.
