there are a lot of posters on here that are getting ridiculous. how in the world can we as UT fans agree with the HC and staff are making our beloved institution look nationally. Young men across the country who have only seen UT play on t.v. and have no idea about our rich tradition are only seeing ESPN and others now bash UT because of our very inexperienced HC's comments and actions in recruiting.
I know CK did very well recruiting in USC but, I could recruit to USC. I am 63 year old veteran. I have seen it all at UT and this " get behind our new coach no matter what" mentality is good to a degree but, Even the most irrational UT fan knows CK and staff are spouting off at the mouth and burning bridges that were barely built in recruiting. I personally hope we as Vols can withstand the probable onslaught from the SEC teams that CK is attacking. I am not saying be a bunch of beat down fans ..be proud of UT just not of what our HC has been talking. I hope we surprise the nation next year , i would be very surprised if we go 6-6. Realize CK has never coached in the SEC and this is not the PAC 10 . USC was the big dog there .UT is rebuilding and it just got harder with him kicking over bricks. Thanks Vol fans for your time this morning. I do not post often, but I give my old honest opinion and I think our HC has rattled to many cages way to early in his short tenure.

I don't think I would say ESPN has been bashing UT. I'm pretty sure the guys on PTI were saying they agree with what LK did/said. I'm also pretty sure everybody said CUM wouldn't make it in the SEC either. I'm definitely not saying LK will be as successful as CUM right away but maybe eventually he will be.

I also just get tired of the excuse of "he's never coached in the SEC, he doesn't know what he is doing", the man knows how to be a head coach and believe it or not there is a lot more parity in the NFL than the SEC. Also with as many home games as he has on the schedule next year, 6-6 would be a dissappointment.

Uh that's why we have turned over a new leaf with hiring outside of the General Neyland lineage.

CLK is dealing the cards and we have to play the cards he is dealing. Hammy did not interview any of us so if you don't like it pick a new team. I personally enjoy him making asinine statements, he is pumping up the players. The heck with everybody else.

Hopefully all of this talk will motivate our players and let them now that CLK has confidence in them. If he didn't he wouldn't be talking.

Check USC's record before Kiffin came on board. I believe it was 6-6 and then 7-5 his first year there. Recruits weren't exactly beating down the door to go there. Then again, your 63, you should know this old wise one.

Kiffin shoudn't have offended Pahokie or made the mistake about Meyer's calls being against the rules... but his intent to agitate the competiton is EXACTLY what the program needs to get its swagger back.

Look at the papers, even Richardson commented on the FAX machine at the high school. He had his aunt take it over to a junior high where she works and faxed it to UT at 7 o'clock.

He didn't want to deal with the Gator homers in the High School office, so he had a family member take care of it. He said he would have done the same thing if he went to UF to keep the news from leaking.

No big deal.

I love that he called CUM out. Go out there fighting. We already are relevent again in SEC and we haven't played a game. People forget we went 5-7 under fulmer. Kiffin could have taken last years team and went 10-2. The people that say we are going 6-6 obviously didnt watch the games last year. as TERRIBLE as we were we win at auburn and against freakin wyoming and at ucla if fulmer isn't coach. Good gosh im so glad we got rid of him. I'm tired of losing on fumbles, punt returns, and terrible disipline.

or, as Charles Barkley so eloquently put it: "let there be no conflict, if you put yo' hands on me, I am gonna whoop yo' ass."

"The people that work in that high school are just Turrrible."

USC was 5-7 the year before Kiffin was hired...they went 6-6 the following year with a loss to Utah in the las vegas bowl and then went 11-2...Seeing a trend here?..Then they started winning NC's out the wazoo lol

right, we are supposed to be nice to the competition and their coaches,, starting to sound like a freakin GA fan that has been whipped by FLA so much,,, plus those same young boys dont know the "tradition" of TN football, all they see is the mediocraty that has been UT for the past several years,,, something has to be done to put the fire back in the program, sittin around like a whipped puppy isnt how to do it...
